-Chapter 14

Jason looked away from me as I walked into the kitchen and he placed his cup down. I closed my eyes. This is not what I want but I have no choice. If I had a choice, I would be with him right now like I was earlier yesterday before Miu told me about what she wanted. I have to let her have it. She needs her happiness.

“I’m assuming you are going out today,” Jason said breaking the silence. I looked at him and he looked at me with a sad expression. “If you are going out today, I want you to text me when you will be back so I can have dinner ready. I don’t want to leave you starving since I will be at the studio for the rest of the day.”

I nodded and looked down. “Oh, I see. I don’t think you should make me dinner. I’ll make myself something to eat like a frozen dinner,” I replied.

“I’m going to go now then.” Jason walked by me and I looked at him. He looked at me and he looked away quickly. “I hope you have fun with your boyfriend.” He opened the door and walked out, closing the door behind himself.

I walked down to the bathroom and turned on the shower and I got in. I fell to the bottom of the tub and I started crying. Why can’t I have a fairytale kind of romance? What happened to everything I thought I would have in the end? I want him to be with me. Why didn’t I realize all of this sooner?

Knocking came on the door out in the living room and I turned off the shower. I got out of the tub and walked down to the door and opened it. Jason looked at me and he touched my hair gently. He pulled his hand away and he sighed heavily.

“Why are you wet?” he asked.

“I fell into the tub,” I lied and he looked at me questioningly. “I am just so clumsy.” I looked away from him and he entered. “I thought you were going to go to work today.”

“I can’t go to work if you are wet from being in the tub. You need to dry off and get some new clothes on or you’ll get sick,” he told me and he tossed me his jacket. “If you aren’t going to change or dry off, you have to put on that jacket.” He turned away from me. “I’m going to call off work today. I don’t want to go in if I know you aren’t doing well.”

“Jason…” I slid the jacket on and took a deep breath. “You shouldn’t be worrying about me at all. I am doing alright.”

“No, you’re not. I can tell that you are hurting inside and I’m not sure why. I should be the one who is hurt but I’m not anymore. I thought about everything last night and do you want to know what I came up with?” I nodded. “I came up with the mind set of being happy for you no matter what. You get to pick what you want and how you live and I have to accept that. If you want Ryouta, you can have him. Please just do things for yourself, okay?”

I nodded again and he looked at me. “Your jacket is huge,” I commented and he nodded his head. “Well, I am going to go over there and get some soup. Do you want to have any soup?”

Jason held up his index finger and shook it, making ticking sounds. “You’re not making any soup. You are going to sit down on a chair and wait for me to make some so you can eat some. You look miserable and I’m going to take care of you until I can make you feel better. Even if I can’t make you feel better…I will try to…” His voice trailed off and I looked at him in shock.

“Oh…Jason…”  I muttered out weakly and he walked into the kitchen. I took a seat on a chair. “I’ll be waiting.”

Jason popped up in front of me with a bowl and he placed it down in front of me. He handed me a spoon and he placed a towel on my head. He made sure it was out of my sight and he started rubbing it against my head. I looked up at him and he looked away and cleared his throat.
