Hello everyone! I am Serenity Hope and I'm here to inform you about the latest and most interesting fanfictions and reviewing them. Being a fanfiction writer myself, I always wondered, "What makes a fanfic great? How can I improve my writing skills?"

Of course, I buckled down and read many fanfictions for not only my own entertainment, but for information and ideas. Reading through many fanfictions, I've noticed that great fanfictions are hard to find but when mining through the rocks, you'll find those jewels that bring you joy, broaden your perspective and extend your view of your favorite subject whether it's Naruto, Star Wars, or any beloved show or movie. I have discovered three elements that make the jewels shine: relatable characters, memorable plots, and a unique style. Now our first fanfiction review together begins!

Scroll 1: The Third Uchiha Review

First, let's begin with an introduction to the story and its author. Faith_Ellie is the author of a Naruto Fanfiction known as "Scroll 1: The Third Uchiha." The first book in her trilogy has thirty chapters with a great amounts of content and writing in each section. "Scroll 1" has done incredibly well, as it has been read 790,000 times, has 28,000 votes, and over 5,000 comments. It has become popular for a reason, because Faith_Ellie has done wonderfully with creating her own version of the series.

The Third Uchiha is a story about the life of Rin Uchiha, the child of Fugaku and Mikoto and the little sister of Itachi and Sasuke. The first book in the trilogy describes the first stage of Rin's life and her view on the events that led up to the tragedy of the Uchiha Clan and the start of the Naruto series. Rin Uchiha is a young girl and the princess of the Uchiha Clan. She's smart and strong for her age, cares for her beloved friends and loves her big brothers very much. She can often be very funny, especially when she's around her friends but she also has her faults. Rin has a bit of a temper and when her anger takes control, she doesn't think before she acts or speaks, especially when it comes to her father.

She works so hard to become the daughter her father can be proud of but she feels she will never be given praise because her brothers will always be the strongest in a male-dominated society and clan. She's told that she'll never reach the level her brothers are at, because no female has ever developed the Sharingan in the Uchiha Clan. Wanting to help their sister succeed, both Itachi and Sasuke help their little sister in their own ways. Whether it's training or comfort, they're always there to help their beloved sister and her friends are always there for her too.

As the plot progresses throughout the story and you watch the heroine grow physically, mentally, and spiritually. She does succeed in developing the Sharingan and becomes a very successful ninja at such a young age of five. Unfortunately, it isn't enough to save her family and her clan from being slaughtered in the massacre that befalls them, and once she realizes to her horror that her eldest brother, Itachi, is behind the death of their own parents, her happy life has completely fallen apart. Unable to live with the fact her brother killed their entire clan for power, Rin runs away from the Leaf Village to hunt down her brother and find out the truth, but leaves her brother Sasuke, the only survivor of the massacre besides her, to continue baring the sadness of their loss alone.

Once the powerful, young heroine is around the age of ten, she returns to the village after being gone for over four years and after she has discovered the truth from Itachi, but not for the reasons you might think. I will not give away too much of the story, but I insist that you read this fanfiction to find out, because it is a true diamond in the rough and here's why it meets the criteria for a great fanfiction.

#1: Characters

Often times, when it comes to character development, it's rare to find a good original character in a fanfiction. The characters often either have so much random personality traits that they do things that just don't make sense, or the characters have so little personality that they are almost nonexistent or transparent. These characters are often created, because they are fill-ins for the reader or even the author to just imagine themselves in the story.
