Chapter 3 - Sick
Dianna’s POV:
I woke up the next morning feeling a bit sick. I thought the feeling would go away soon, so I got up to go to breakfast. Callie was already awake and we went down to breakfast together, where we saw everyone else (Brayden, Liam, Dennis and Mitch). We went to get some toast and juice and then we sat back down. I took a sip of my juice, but I couldn’t bring myself to have any food. “Callie I feel sick” I said to her. “I’m gonna back to our room and stay there, until I feel better.” “Oh ok, get better, I’ll come after breakfast.” “No, don’t worry about me, have fun.” I got up and as I did, I felt a hand on mine. I turned around and was met with the gaze of Liam’s dark brown eyes. “Get better” he said, before letting go off my hand. I smiled, slightly disappointed. I mean, I didn’t expect him to give up his day for me but he could have at least offered. I started to walk when I saw a tall blonde figure next to me. I looked around and saw Mitch next to me. “So what are we going to today” Mitch asked, smiling at me. I smiled back. That was so sweet. “You’re giving up your day to spend time with sick me” I asked him. “You bet” he said. This was why I had always been able to relate to Mitch; he was sweet, nice, compassionate and was absolutely hilarious as well. “Thanks Mitch, I really appreciate it” I said.
Mitch’s POV:
I was surprised when Liam didn’t offer to go with Dianna and stay with her. So I took the opportunity to go with her and see if maybe I could get her laughing and realising that I was the better match for her than Liam. I mean I have nothing against Liam, I just think that Dianna and I would make a good couple. We started walking and I could see that she wasn’t feeling too well. As she smiled at me and thanked me, I knew that I would definitely rather spend the day with her. You know its funny, I don’t often see her, but the couple of times before the cruise that I saw her, I knew I liked her. We walked into her room and she sat down. “Lie down” I said to her and she smiled at me and got into bed. “Its suddenly cold” she said as she put a blanket over herself. I walked over to her and put my hand on her head. “You’re heating up” I said. “Maybe from your hand on my head” she laughed. I smiled, not really knowing what else to say. Was she flirting with me? But she liked Liam ... or did she like us both ...? No, she wasn’t like that. “Do you want some water” I asked Dianna. “No, I don’t want to be too much trouble” she said, smiling at me. “No I want to” I said and before she could protest. As I walked out the door, I saw Liam waiting.
Liam’s POV:
I was so stupid; why hadn’t I gone with Dianna? It would have been the perfect moment to ask her to be my girlfriend, but no. And then Mitch had gone and I was left there feeling stupid. Callie had turned to me and said, “What was that, I purposely decided not to go with her, so you could instead. I mean you like her and she likes you and that would’ve been the perfect moment to tell her.” She was right and I couldn’t deny it. “Go” I heard Braden say. I nodded and got up and left. I went to the room that Dianna and Callie said and I saw Mitch leaving the room. “Where are you going” I asked him, my voice coming out harsher than I meant for it to. “She wants some water” he replied, smirking at me as he walked off. I glared at him, before walking into the room. Dianna was lying on the bed, waiting for Mitch. She turned her head as I walked in. “Oh, hi” she said. “Hey” I replied, trying to smile. I just stood there awkwardly, as she didn’t say anything but then I heard her asking me, “What are you doing in here?” “To see how you’re going” I said. “Oh so now you care” she said. I was confused at first; but then I thought back to what Callie said about how it would have been the perfect time to ask her to be my girlfriend. “Well I’m here now” I said. “Oh, great” she said rolling her eyes. “Well it’s not like you asked me to come with you!” I said, getting angry now. Why was she being like this. She was overreacting. “It just seems like Mitch cares about me more than you do.” Dianna said, “I think I like you more than you like me” she continued. I looked over at her as she looked shocked from what she had just said. She had admitted that she liked me. I couldn’t help but smile, but then I remembered what she had said about Mitch. “Stop making things up” I growled at her. “I wish I was” she replied. “Can you just go” she said. “FAR OUT DIANNA, YOU MAKE EVERYTHING SO DIFFICULT” I yelled at her, getting annoyed. Yeah alright, I didn’t come with her, I got that, but it doesn’t mean everything is done between us. “So sorry Liam” Dianna replied and I could hear the sarcasm dripping from her voice. “Just go” she said. At that moment Mitch walked in. “Here is your water and a panadol Dani” he said giving it to her. Dani, nicknaming her. Maybe I was overreacting; I’m sure everyone called her that. But it still annoyed me. “You lifesaver” I growled at Mitch as I walked out, slamming the door shut.
Dianna’s POV:
It was fair to say, I was annoyed. I mean he comes in and pretends like it was all good. I was convinced that Liam was going to ask me out on the cruise, but maybe I was wrong and maybe I should just let my feelings slip away, even though I liked him ... a lot. And I told him, I’m so stupid. But it hurt because he didn’t say he liked me too. I know I was a bit harsh with what I said, but it just hurt to hear him say what he did. Luckily, Mitch walked in and gave me a panadol and some water. I was feeling better, but I knew a panadol would be good. “Everything alright” Mitch asked. “I’m fine” I said, pulling a fake smile. “If you say so” he said. Mitch and I started talking about everything and just having a good time, making jokes and talking about school and life. It was just so easy to get along with Mitch, he was such a good friend.
Liam’s POV:
I knew I had stuffed it up now. I walked over to the gang, as I saw Brayden and Callie in the spa with some other guy (Aaron). “Whats up mate” Brayden asked me. “I stuffed it” I said. Callie looked over at me and said, “You did tell her you like her, right?” “No” I said, “Its not that easy.” “Well what did you two talk about” she asked me. “Well to sum it up, she got mad at me, but then she said she liked me and then I got mad at her.” “She told you she likes you ... and I know you like her too.” Callie was right ... why hadn’t I told her when I had the chance? This was it ... I was going to go and tell her.
I walked over to her cabin, nervous and not knowing what to say. But I had to tell her, I did. I burst into her cabin and said, “Dianna, I want to be in a relationship with you.” But I was greeted with the most awful sight ... Mitch’s lips were on Dianna’s.
