Right Next Door

I wake up the next morning at six and can't go back to bed. I decide to get up and shower.

After I get out of the shower I change into denim shorts and white lace top. I sit on my bed and watch a couple episodes of Once Upon A Time. At about eight I get a text from Annie.

Annie: Want to come over? You can come and watch my gymnastics practice if you would like.

I walk downstairs and ask my mum if I can go.

"I guess. Just make sure you have your phone with you."

"Okay, thanks mum."

"Bye, have fun."

Isadora: I'm coming over right now.

I go outside and walk over to the LeBlanc's house.

The door is unlocked so I walk straight in.

"Good morning Isadora," says Ms. Katie, pointing the camera towards me, "how are you?"

"I'm good. How are you?"

"Excellent. Do you want to introduce yourself?"

"Hi, I'm Isadora. I just moved from England and I now live next door to these people."

"Do you want anything to eat?"

"Can I have a granola bar."

"Sure," Ms. Katie replies as she hands me a granola bar.

"Thanks."

"Is everyone ready to go?"

We head to garage and get in the car. I'm in the back with the two girls.

"Why is your phone so big?" asks Hayley.

"Because that's how it was made. I got it because it has a longer battery life."

"Oh. Do you do gymnastics?"

"Only occasionally. I take acro and that has a lot of gymnastics skills in it."

Thirty minutes later we get to the gym.

"Isadora," says Annie, pulling me over to a girl, "this is my friend Katie. Katie, this is Isadora. She just moved here from England."

"Oh really?" says Katie in a British accent.

"Yes really." I reply.

"Oh, you're for real."

"Yes Katie, I'm British."

"Are you going to do gymnastics with us?" asks Annie.

"Not today, but maybe another day."

"I'll try to come over later and we can go on the trampoline," says Katie.

"That's brill."

"What?"

"It's short for brilliant."

"Oh, brill."
