Chapter 2:
Waking up with the sun blazing through my windows was something i actually look forward to. The stain glass windows glisten as the sun shines through them, creating a beautiful pattern on my wooden floor. Feeling the cool summer breeze on my feet that must have slipped through the now crumpled sheets.Fluttering my eyes to get adjusted to the bright lights. I begin to think of all the things that had happened this summer.
Worrying about all the things I've missed out. I never wanted to interact with people after what happened... I just figured why would people want to know someone like me? But that never stopped Nicole from coming into my life. Nicole and I have been best friends since 7th grade. When I was sitting in a bench with my camera in one had and a cupcake in the other and she grabs both from my hand and started talking pictures with it . We've been best friends ever since. We're not like the other girls at our high school. You see we go to a catholic high school. Majority of them act way to like Kardashian wannabes. Hopefully reality hits
them because, people like that will never survive in this cruel world. I've just never understood how people can become so shallow and rude. These girls will most definitely have a visit from Karma and lets just say she's a peach.Snapping out of my thoughts I hopped out of bed and made my way down stairs. Still having the sleep in my eyes I managed to spill half of the milk on the counter, before it even reached the poor bowl. Oh my poor soul.
Sigh a long noise while trying to clean it up.
Looking up at the clock at the microwave I notice I was going to be late for work! Jumping off the wooden stool not even finishing my "half breakfast " and running upstairs to get changed.
You see I work at a music/ book store on the street where the flower shop is. It's called Lunes, I know what your thinking why would someone name a store that? But to be completely honest it's actually kinda clever, it's a combination of literature and tunes! Come guys it can't get any better then that!Running down the busy streets, feeling the nice cool breeze seeping through my ripped jeans. I mange to run into 4 people who looked at me with some odd expression & mean remarks! Even a grandma managed to hit me with her big purse, and let me tell you it was not on accident. It's not my fault they we're in my way or that the New York side walk is over populated with people. They just need to get over it because, not everything will go there way.
Entering the store seeing Jeff my boss. Who's actually pretty relaxed and has killer looks that most the ladies swoon over. Key word is "most" I assure you I am not one of them. But I wouldn't be surprised if that was why we get so many girl customers.
Over the past 2 years Jeff and I have gotten close. I started working here when I was 16 and at the time he was 19. Years went by and this shaggy blue eyed boy was still my good friend. Coming back to reality I realize Jeff has this crazy look on his face while talking to me.
"Faith. Faith . FAITH !!"He yelled
"Did you even hear my awesome story about the possum." He said with a grin
"Oh right um yeah of course I did ."I said sticking my tongue out
"Oh really then what's the possum name." He asked suspiciously
" Um Garry" I said in confidence
He looked at me dumbfounded at my answer
"How how di-d you know that?!!" He asked with curiously
"Jeff you name all the animals that you find Garry it's actually kinda strange now that I think about it, but hey whatever floats your boat buddy." I said with an amused look
"Wipe that aimed look of your face because I do not!" He said
"Oh really?" I said sarcastically
"Yeah I would know" he said in a duh tone
"Okay then what about the turtle or the cat or the mouse or that one time when you found a lizard and you wanted me to watch it because your mom wanted let you have it in the house" !I said
Jeff looked up from his black chucks "okay maybe I do take a liking to the name Garry but, that's besides the point!"
"That's exactly the point!!" I said
"Is not" he said
"Is to"
"Is not"
"Is to"
"Is not"
"Yeah yeah whatever lets just say I won okay and now the world is better.. "
"World better my butt" he grumbled
"I heard that" I yelled now making my way through to the desk.
"You were suppose to" hearing a faint tell from the backSitting down looking around seeing if anybody actually needed any help. Because well the store is pretty self-explanatory everything is categorized from artists to last names. The genres are based by the type of music or the type of author. In the Corner of the room has a huge stereo system with records and types to play. In the other side of the room it's a reading area with little colorful bean bags and wooden tables with old fashion light bulbs hanging from the ceilings. We also have those really cool hammock hanging on down from the wall so that you can lay in them.
"Hi excuse me do you think you could wrap these records for me? They're a gift" a blonde boy asked with a pleading look
Looking up at him I saw the struggle he was actually in. The wrapping paper was deformed and crumpled. Smiling at him he seeing his slightly flushed cheeks from the embarrassment he felt I'm assuming.
"Uh yeah sure" I said while looking for some new wrapping paper that should be under the desk
Feeling eyes on my head he finally spoke up again.
" sorry I just don't really have the magic touch in this area" he said nervously scratching the back of his neck
chuckling I said "it's okay don't worry about it"
"So uh do u come here often ?" He asked
Looking up again trying to decided wither he was joking or being serious.
Just as I managed to come to a decision, he finally realized what he just said.
"Oh gosh that was really stupid to ask, of course you come here often you work here. Well at least I hope you do your behind the counter with a name tag...." He said rambling
I laughed
"I'm Josh by the way" sticking his had out to me
Staring at his hand I cringed not wanting to touch a person. But knowing that it probably would be rude it I didn't. I know its just i have this thing ever since i was little about touching people and its grown with me as i grew.
Meeting my hand with his I said "oh right I'm Faith " with a small smile. Handing his present to him.
" So faith did it hurt when you fell from heaven?"
" Please tell me you didn't just say that because if you really want to know the answer I suggest you leave before anything else happens."
An amused look in his eyes sparked looking down he wrote something on a paper and handed it to me before walking out.Looking at it, it said his number and name but also a little note saying call me if you want to meet up just as friends yeah? -josh
Jeff looking behind me with a evil glint in his eyes " oh Lala someone got someone's number , do want me to take it and put it with the others? Or do You actually want to keep it? He asked walking away with an amused expression
"Oh shut up you" yelling at him while throwing a book in his direction
"Owwwww" hearing a faint scream
Laughing knowing that I actually hit him.
Looking down at the number mumbling I think I'll keep it.. I guess I made a new friend today.---------------------------------------------
