(a/n - for the first three nights we stayed in a gorilla lodge which kinda helped us to get used to Uganda and its environment, this was definitely a treat for us since we were travelling to a monkey island)

Woke up late by half an hour, and we had to get ready in 5 minutes, so great start to the trip. Once ready, we had pineapple slices and toast for breakfast and i sat with my group which included: Ashley, Lottie, Sunny and Ella.

Afterwards, 3/4 of the whole group (30 students) managed to fit into our van, i sat next to this guy James whilst Kyran and Abu sat next to him on his other side, with me next to the window. I had the window wide open, so i could admire the views and wave to the children on their way to school. When we had arrived, we had to walk through this feild surrounded by small buildings and plants. The air is warm and my hair only starts to frizz. Lake Victoria is right in front of us and its so big that you would think its an ocean. There's a building on my left and a very run down, not even any walls , just the structure kind of building to my right. So many massive cobwebs look as if they have exploded across the building where they are the same size as my body. You have to walk over this small metal bridge to get over it but we walked to the right, around it which lead us to this long boat with bright orange life jacket on each seat. Whilst boarding, i almost loose my balance which the girls laughed at , even me since a weird noise came out my mouth. During the boat ride their, the whole group sang songs we had previously learnt in school and talked  and laughed. The island we went to consisted of mostly trees since the chimpanzee enclosure took up most of it, and small buildings around the shore dedicated to its visitors and clinics. To begin with, we had this talk from a man who works their, giving us loads of facts about the chimpanzees and all about their charity and why they do it.

After the talk, we made our way up to the biggest enclosure where we could feed to monkeys. To grab our attention, the chimpanzees clapped, which meant that they wanted to catch the food, or they held their hands up. whilst doing this, I managed to get some good shots. After that, we went to see the babies. Adorable. that's all i can say. that, and i took one of the best photos i had ever taken. When everyone had finished, we had a talk about the vets clinic they had, but unfortunately i didn't hear much of it since i was glued to the babies enclosure. After having lunch, we left after having a group picture on the island. for most of the boat ride back, i had fallen asleep, but once i woke, the group played eye spy so i joined in.

Once we had arrived back, some of us went into this run down building, which was where we encountered this sculptor who wanted to show us his work. Some of his work, were placed in front of the lodge we were staying at which was incredible.  We also saw some of the spiders who had made themselves at home at that building, which were so massive they were the same size as my fist. Literally.

On our journey back, we visited this mall which had a load of small shops and a supermarket. In the supermarket, whilst me and my friends were paying, the power had gone out, leaving us in complete darkness apart from the natural light coming in through the doorways. Me and Ashley had started panicking, meanwhile, all the workers and local had remained calm and carried on with what they were doing.

Once we had arrived back to the lodge, we had dinner then went back to our rooms. Me and Lottie, in the evening, had to try and catch a lizard which was in my mosquito net while Ashley sat i hers, screaming at us to hurry up and catch it. Afterwards, Ella and Sunny joined us in our room and played Uno with mine and Ashley's bed pushed together with me laying across both of them. After getting board with the game we just sat and chatted until it was time the two girls had to leave because of the curfew. when the both of them left, we all sat and write our journals.
