- Pam, I beg of you. Can you put another YouTube playlist for once in your life? - said Sean from the table in the middle while he was giving one of the last clients the bagel he ordered.  - Here's your bagel, sir. -
- Why? It's perfect for a night coffee shop. - I said turning the volume up. - Because it's depressing. Chloe Burbank is not even real, stop being in love with her already. - he said trying to stop me from listening to her playlist.
- Sean, I'm not in love with her... Or maybe I am, but nobody knows if it's a she, you dummy. - I told him with a stupid tone trying not to say a bad word in front of the customers.
Sean looked at me like "whatever" and walked to the table next to the window and took their order.
It was 4:37 am, there were 2 hours left until we closed. And it was time for me to take my brake.
-Dude, I mean.. Sean. Ummm, I'll have my break now. - he just nod his head yes quickly. It was a light shift, there wasn't so many customers at night.
I changed the playlist to some jazz shit and then I went out of the shop just for a couple of minutes and lightened up a cig, enjoying the sound of the rain. As I always did. That's why I chose the night shift, because it's always raining at night and it's perfect to listen to my favorite music. My thoughts were interrupted by Sean knocking on the window and mouthing "stop smoking so much, you already smell like cancer". I looked at him and changed my position so I could ignore him.
I started humming one of my favorite Chloe's songs.

*{Just imagine the album cover didn't have a picture of Joji on it yet}

I closed my eyes for a minute until I started to hear steps approaching me. I tried to ignore it but I heard someone leaning against the wall just some inches next to me. I decided to take out another cig and put it in my mouth so I could lighten it. But apparently my pocket swallowed my lighter because I couldn't find it.
I heard the sound of a lighter just in front of my face and started to feel the heat of it's fire. I opened my eyes.

- Let me do it for you. - said this guy with his deep voice lightly drawing a smile.
- Oh, yeah. Thanks. - I said accepting what he was doing. - Didn't see you there.- I said trying to look at his face, the illumination wasn't good in that spot. He came closer so I could totally see his face. - Hi.- he said with a little laugh at the end. It made me smile back.

After some minutes of silence he talked. -So...- he cleared his throat- ummm, w-what were y-you humming before?- he looked serious, trying to strike up a conversation. - One of my favorite songs. You may have listened to it if you come here often.- I pointed at the shop. - I always put the same playlist. Well, almost every night.- I giggled and looked to the street again. The rain began to stop but not totally.
- I don't exactly come very often. I just pass by like at this time. Never bought anything of the shop. - he said and hung a camera on his neck and then moved his hair which was covering part of his glasses and eyes. A cute gesture. He smiled at me again and put his camera in front of his face and took a picture of me with the flash on. -I'm sorry.- he said totally careless and smiled sarcastically at me.
- What was that?- I asked him a little annoyed. He had a "no fucks given" face. - Why did you do that?- I asked him again and he wasn't answering.
- Calm down, just look at this.- he showed me the picture in the camera.

I liked the picture though

I liked the picture though. He really had a gift for photography.
He laughed and said: - you're too cute.- I looked at him and noticed. He was cuter.
-Do you like it?- he asked me.
-I do.- I told him and looked at the picture again. -Do you take pictures of strangers very often, though?- I asked him sarcastically.
-Yeah, they don't seem to care or notice sometimes.- he took the camera away and turned it off.
I saw the name "Chloe" on his shirt with some minimalistic flower drawings and it reminded me of Burbank from the playlist. Maybe he knew the song I was humming before. Maybe he likes it too.
-What's your name, anyways?- I asked him.
-I'm George, my friends call me Joji sometimes.- then there was a long silence and he talked again. -And you're... Pam.- he said confidently.
-What?!- I almost yelled this. How did he..?
-Yeah, it's written on your name tag. - he laughed. My face was red. What are you doing, Pam? Stop blushing, you don't even know him.
-Oh, NOW you're blushing- he said and laughed again. -You're too cute.- he said again. -Hey, I need to go now.- he said looking at his phone. -Can I pass by tomorrow again?- he asked calmly.
-Sure, why not.- I said sighing with no choice.
-Great, umm. So... Goodbye... Pam.- he said walking away from me. He stopped and turned around to say -Stay cute, you're really cool.- he waved goodbye and walked again.

I entered the shop again so I could finish the shift and Sean was looking at me and shaking his head.
-What?- I asked. -He obviously likes you, Pamcakes.- he said and took the shop keys. -I've seen him before. He's my cousins friend, some people call him Brooklyn.- he said.
-Why Brooklyn?- I asked confused.
-I don't know, that's how people who's photographed for him started calling him because he's always around or something like that, who cares.- he said careless.
-He said people called him Joji.- I said. -And he told me I was cute.-
