Back in my apartment. I had one hour and a half left before George came pick me up so we could go to the party.
What should I wear? You know, probably I'm not going to know anybody at the party but this has always been a problem. I should go casual, and it's probably raining later so I should bring a jacket with me. I chose this.
(Ignore the gay Starbucks cup)
Soon, I heard the doorbell. I ran to the door and took a look through the peephole. George. It was early though. I'm glad I was ready.
-Coming!- I yelled and went to grab the house keys. I fixed up my hair a bit in front of the hall mirror and then ran to the door and opened it. I opened the door to see George looking at the ceiling with his hands in his pockets. He had different clothes than those he was wearing earlier at the park. With a knitted sweater and a black jacket now, he looked cool.
-Are you gonna let me in?- he asked squinting his eyes and smiling at the end of the question. I must've been looking at him for a while now. –Oh yes, sorry. Ummm, I.. thought you were going to arrive later, it's just 9:37 now. – I said looking at the watch on my wrist without actually looking at the hour and letting him in. –Yeah, about that.. I'm terrible at finding addresses so I came earlier. But I guess I found it faster than I thought I would, and here I am. – he said talking faster every word. I closed the door and offered him to take a sit on the sofa in the living room. I put some music from Chloe's album in the home theatre and told him I would be back. I went into my room and sprayed a little bit of perfume on my neck and wrists. And all over my clothes, who am I kidding. I finished my makeup with some light pink lipstick and blush and I went back to the living room where George was. He probably was on his phone pretending to do something. He was actually tweeting something I didn't know about. -I'm back. Do you want some water or something?- I asked while I walked into the kitchen. -I'm okay, thanks. – he replied almost instantly. –I didn't know you liked that type of music though. It's just the music I listen to everyday.- he said smiling. His eyes closed a bit when he smiled, such a cute gesture. –Do you know the album?- I asked him expecting a positive answer. –Yes! A great one indeed. –he answered and chuckled at the end. I sat next to him on the sofa very excited because finally I wasn't the only person on earth who knew Chloe's music. –Oh my gawd, finally! I thought I was the only one here in Brooklyn who knew that album, damn. – I said excited. He looked at me right in the eye and smiled. –My friends listen to that kind of music too, those who you're going to meet tonight, actually. – he said. –We could make a club maybe.- I said joking. He chuckled and then suddenly everything went quiet, we could only hear the music on a low ambient volume. He closed his eyes softly and started humming and then singing quietly.
"Baby, can you be a little bit stronger?
Baby, cause I need a little longer.
You're an earthly comfort,
Yet so divine, yet so divine.
I never see you anymore." —From You Suck Charlie.
