Dylan was on his knees cleaning the floor that his older brother, James, dirtied 5 minuets prior with oatmeal. "Why the hell would you make me something that tastes like shit?" James spat. Dylan looked up from the floor, and to James.
"What???? You just asked me to make something healthy for you and you literally just spit it out, and dropped the bowl on the floor."
"What is all this damn arguing about?!" His mother, yelled at her two sons as she walked into the kitchen.
"Well.. Mother I made some oatmeal for James because he asked me to." Dylan basically stated
"Don't you dare talk back to my son like that you stupid fairy!!" Dylan's mother kicked him, right on his bottom lip. Dylan lost his balance and fell on his back. His lips were bleeding instantly.. Dylan put the sponge down and wiped his bottom lip. He got back on his knees to finish the job, which was cleaning the floor. He picked the sponge back up... He never understood why his mother would treat him like this. But it's not just her.. It's his whole family.
"I'm sorry mother. I don't know what came over me." Dylan stated and lowered his head to look at the red liquid on the back of his wrist, because of the blood dripping from his now very bloody lip.
"Finish cleaning this mess and go to your room... Or should I say, the attic?? You dirty worthless piece of shit! And hurry up!!" Dylan flinched at her harsh tone & words.
"Okay mother I will.." Dylan tried his hardest to stop the tears forming in his light brown eyes. Both his brother and mother walked out of the room and to the living room to watch television. As Dylan was finished cleaning, he got up, went to the sink, and turned it on, to ring out the sponge.. While the water was running out of the faucet, he couldn't help but cry a little bit. He put the sponge down and wiped his tears before his family seen it. Because he knew that if they saw him crying then it would make it way worse for him. Especially his father... While walking upstairs to go to his room, his sister walked out of the bathroom.
"Hey" Dylan greeted her. And as expected she ignored him and went about his way... As if he wasn't even there. Both his sister & brother are twins and are 17 & Dylan is 16.
Dylan opened the door that leads to a couple of stairs that also leads to the attic, which was also his room.. His house was quite big and there was 1 extra room left. But of course they wouldn't let him have it. It's a surprise that his parents would even let him live in their home, but they wouldn't want to go to jail for child abandonment. If it wasn't for that, Dylan doesn't know what he would do.
Dylan finally got to his attic door and closed it, slowly & quietly. It was pretty roomy in there. It had his bed and his dresser with his clothes inside and a window at the far end of the room. However it gets pretty chilly at night.
Dylan changed into his night clothes and went to bed. It was September and it was getting a bit colder so he covered himself with his blanket, that was way too thin.
He stared outside his window at the stars, hoping he would find his "Prince Charming" knowing it might not happen. He was still confident though. A tear left his eye and he closed them, and immediately fell asleep..
