Chris had called Chloe's home phone and cell phone for a week with no answer and he was beyond worrying. He didn't want to go see her if she wasn't answering his calls and he could barely stay away from her house, but he made himself
He called Chloe's phone Friday before school, but instead of his girl answering, her mom did. She wouldn't tell him what was wrong with Chloe, of course, but she told him to come to the hospital where Chloe was being treated. Of course, she scared the shit out of him since she wouldn't tell him what is wrong with Chloe.
When He finally got to the hospital after breaking numerous driving laws and ditching school, he was told to move into recovery where Chloe was. He found her room number and rushed in grabbing a hold of her hand as fast as he could.Her mom left the room to give them some privacy and Chloe laughed. "I've missed you too Chris,"
"I don't see how that's something to laugh at. You've scared the shit out of me." Of course he could never be mad at her, but if she was going to mess with him then he was going to mess with her.
"I know you aren't really mad babe, but I'm sorry anyways," she smiled. He loved her smile.
"Of course I'm not. I never have been and never will be, but are you going to tell me why you had to come to the hospital?"
Her smile fell a little when she spoke. "I'm fine. It was just some virus thing that made me really dehydrated is all. I'll be fine."
He could tell she was lying, but he would let it go since she's sick. "Well I'm glad you're better now sweetie," he said with a smile. "When do you get to go home?"
"Today I think. Will you stay with me?"
"Of course I will. I don't want to let you out of my sight," he said kissing her forehead and he didn't want to ever leave her side again
Chloe began to drift off again and he let her, but he wasn't going to let go of her hand. Before she fell asleep she whispered, "I love you Chris."
He kissed her forehead and whispered against her skin, "I love you too baby."
While Chloe slept, he sat in a chair next to her bed and held her hand gently rubbing the top with his thumb. A few hours passed before Chloe woke up and the nurse came in.
"How are you feeling?" she asked Chloe.
"Tired, but fine other wise. Do I get to go home now?" Chloe asked, hope obvious in her eyes.
"Yes. I've given your mom some at home care instructions, but it's likely to come back so if you start feeling bad again then you need to come right back here, okay?"
"Okay."
The nurse gave Chloe the clothes that she had come in and he left the room so that she could change. When she was ready to go Chloe and her mom signed the discharge papers and he drove Chloe home.
Mrs. Rose had some errands to run since they had been in the hospital all week. Chris stayed at home with Chloe. They were on the couch and her head was in his lap. He was playing with her hair and they had the TV on, but neither of them were paying attention. The young man felt so good to have her back with him.
He bent over and lightly kissed her lips, but before he could pull back Chloe's hands wrapped around his neck pulling him closer to her. When she finally let him go, she said, "I've missed kissing you."
"I've missed kissing you too, but I've just missed hearing your voice to tell you the truth."
At that she smiled and they went back to just enjoying each other's company. Once Chloe's mom got back, he had to go home since she needed her rest, but he would be back first thing in the morning when Chloe texted him.
