Rowan and I drove over to Matthews garden to have lunch with my mom and dad. We got out of the car and I had just notice that she took off her robe and was wearing a beautiful white dress.

"You ready?" I asked.

I watched her nod and we locked arms.

"I'm going to use the restroom." She told me as I headed to the table.

"Kernel. Mom." I said giving them a hug.

"Why are you wearing that uniform?" My mom asked talking about the army wear I had on.

"I just flew into town. I didn't have time to change. However, I did bring someone with me." I said.

"Peyton. This was supposed to be a family brunch. I don't want you to ruin that by bringing a stripper into a fancy establishment like this." My mom said while looking around her.

"Mom. Just give her a chance." I said looking back.

"Here she comes now." I said getting up and bringing Rowan to the table.

"Mom. You remember Rowan." I said.

"Rowan. How lovely to see you." My mom said perked up.

"Rowan. This is my father kernel Meyer." I said introducing my dad.

"I apologize for intruding on your brunch." Rowan Said.

"Oh dear. Intrude." My mom said to my surprise.

"How have you been, Mrs Meyer?" Rowan asked.

"Please call me Lauren. Your practically family now." My mom said.

"Mom. We're not engaged. She's only twenty." I said as I looked at her as she dabbed her lips with her napkin.

"Well. This has been a pleasure, I truly must get home, my parents haven't seen me since I've graduated." Rowan said getting up and pushing in her chair.

"Graduated. What? High school?" My dad asked.

"Dad!" I yelled

"No. It's okay Peyton. College, I was ahead of my classes in high school so I went to college with some of my friends who are now twenty two. I actually just came from my graduation and Peyton stopped by. I truly must get going my mother would be disappointed in me if I weren't to show her my diploma." Rowan Said.

"It's a pleasure to see you again Rowan." My mother said.

"The pleasure is all mine." I heard Rowan say.

I walked Rowan out of the restaurant and opened her car door. I got in my seat and pulled Away.

"Same place?" I asked.

"Same place." She responded with a smile.

I pulled into her driveway and turned off the car.

" I've missed you." I said.

"I've missed you too. Every day I would fear that you wouldn't come home, or if you did them it would be In a casket." She told me which made me tear up.

"I'm never leaving you." I told her.

"But you already have. The first year you left you said it was to please your father. But the second and third? That had to be all for you." She told me.

"Honestly. The first year was, and then we formed bonds out in Iraq. I couldn't just abandon my friendships." I said.

"But by abandoning your friendship, you abandoned me. You hurt me. You left, me." She told me and I started to cry.

"I am so sorry Rowan." I told her.

"But what got me the most is the fact that you talked to her, and you spoke with him. She was my best friend and know body called me. And when I did know body answered. I should go." Rowan said getting out of her car as I pulled her back in.

I pulled her in and kissed her. I remember these lips. The intensity I got every time I could touch this with my own. I remember everything about her.

"I'll see you tomorrow?" I asked

"Tomorrow" she said getting out of her car feeling her lips.

"Friends?" I ask.

"Best friends. We have memories pey. I can't just forget them so just being friends isn't possible" she said, giving me a kiss on the cheek and walking into her home like she did when we she was fifteen.
