NIALL’S P.O.V
‘Are you sure you can eat all of that?’ Lexi asks me.
‘Do you underestimate my eating ability?’ I say, faking to be hurt.
‘Maybe, maybe not.’ She says in a 'sing-song' voice, winking at me.
We walk towards our table at the back of the restaurant and start chatting. Lexi’s very easy to talk to.

‘So tell me a bit about yourself.’ I enquire taking a sip of my drink.
‘What do you want to know?’ she asks.
‘Why do you have a weird accent?’ I laugh.
Lexi just lets out a small giggle, a beautiful sound...
‘Okay then….When I was sixteen we moved from a small town on the outskirts of Perth, Australia, to Cheshire in England where my mum bought a small bakery. That’s where I met my best friend, Danielle and then we both got scholarships to a university in London and now we share a two-bedroom apartment, where I do a few of my hobbies and she dances.’
‘Interesting. What do you like to do as 'hobbies'?’ I question.
‘Music and painting.’ She grins, once again letting me see her adorable smile.
‘Oh, cool. What do you like and dislike?’ I respond, trying to get to know her as much as I could.
‘What is this 20 Questions?’ She asks laughing at her own joke but then continues,
‘Anyway, before I wet myself at my incredibly joke.. I love the colour lime-green and sherbet, a lot. I hate orange cordial and hospitals.’
‘Your dislikes are so random! Why don't you like hospitals?’ I lightly laugh but instantly regret it when I see the sparkle in her eyes dim down and her smile fade.
Crap. I struck a nerve there.
'Niall you idiot' I thought to myself.
LEXI’S P.O.V
‘Excuse me?’ I ask.
His words just caused hundred of awful memories to come flooding into my head and I can't seem to shake them out.
If I wanted anyone to know why I don’t like hospitals, I’d have it tattooed on my forehead.
‘Why don’t you like orange cordial?" He tries to cover up but does it terribly.
‘Well, it’s nothing like the actual fruit. Oranges are citrusy, sweet, a bit sour, they can ever be bitter at times. But the artificial flavour is nothing like that. You can taste the gaping holes where the flavor is missing, and instead of using the real fruit they fill in the gaps with fake chemicals. It’s just wrong.’ I finish and Niall looks like he's still trying to follow my little rant about fake peop-- fruit flavours.
‘Oh. Okay.’ He replies, confusion showing in his voice.
‘That was a bit too much wasn’t it? I’m sorry for being so socially awkward.’ I said sheepishly, smiling apologetically at him.
‘It’s alright. At least now I know not to get you any orange cordial in the future.’ He chuckles.
Did he just say that he wanted to see me in the future? That is one brave boy.
‘Okay, well I have to go now. Work awaits!’ I said smiling at him as we both stand up.
‘I’ll go and pay before Claire gets annoyed at me for being late.’ I say.
‘Nooo!’ Niall whines.
‘Yes, she really doesn’t appreciate tardiness. Quite strict about being on time actually.’
‘I mean, I’ll pay." He says, punching my arm lightly.
I feel my cheeks heat up as I realize how stupid I just sounded.
‘I’m here to buy you a drink, not for you to buy me lunch.’ I tell him, trying my best to keep my voice stern.
‘I’m sorry but I’m paying’ he replies winking at me
