Neighbors ( Hugh X Millard AU)

Chapter 2

Millard's POV:
"Me and your dad are going out tonight so we won't be home till late. Have fun at school. " My mom said as I got out of the car and walked up to the school building.
I sighed as I opened the door and walked through trying to find the office.
"Hey Millard. " I heard a voice call my name and I looked over and saw Hugh walking to me.
"Hi. " I said as he looked me up and down.
"Did you get your schedule yet?" He asked and I shook my head.
"Oh follow me I'll show you to the office. " Hugh said and grabbed my hand and led me to the office was.

"Excuse me I'm new and I need to get my schedule. " I asked the front desk lady while Hugh waited for me by the door.
"Name please?" She asked and I replied. "Millard Nullings." And she started typing on the computer and printed out something on the paper.
"Here you go. Have a good day. " She said and handed me my schedule.

"Can I see your classes?" Hugh asked and I showed him the paper.
"Oh cool we have all classes together except science. Wow you must be really good at science." Hugh said and we started walking to first period.

"May I help you?" The teacher asked when I walked in the room.
"I-I'm new." I stuttered embarrassingly.
"Oh you must be Millard. You can go sit in the empty seat next to Hugh." She said and Hugh smiled at me.
"Today we are going to be talking about..." The teacher started before I zoned out. I took out my notebook and started drawing little sketches.
"Wow that's really cool. " Hugh whispered to me and I looked down and realized I was drawing a forest.
"T-t-thanks. " I whispered back.
The bell rang and everyone started leaving the classroom.

"Come on we have math now. You can sit by me there's an open seat. " Hugh said and dragged me down the hall.
"Slow down I'm going to trip. " I said and he laughed and slowed down a little.

'Skip to lunch'

"Ok so after lunch we have art which you'll probably be good at." Hugh said as we walked to lunch.
"Come on let's go get lunch then I'll introduce you to my friends. " He said and I panicked slightly.
"Oh I'm not really hungry so I think I'm gonna skip lunch." I tried to make an excuse for not eating hopefully he bought it.
"Oh ok. Well just wait for me then I'll bring you to my friends." He said and went get food.
"Hey guys this is Millard he's my new neighbor. " Hugh introduced me to his friends.
"Oh is he the one you texted me about being so cute." One boy asked laughing a little.
"Shut up Enoch." Hugh said bright red.
"Well that's Enoch and that's his boyfriend Horace." Hugh pointed at the boy who made the comment then the one text to him.
"Then that's Jacob,  Emma, Bronwyn, and Fiona. " he said and pointed to all the rest.
"Hello." I said quietly and they said hi back.
"So you moved in to the house next to Hugh?" Emma asked and I nodded.
"Hey Jacob are you still giving me a ride home?" Hugh asked and looked over at Jacob.
"Oh no I forgot to tell you have to go home straight after school because my parents are making me babysit my cousin Claire." Jacob said and Hugh frowned.
"What are you doing after school today Millard?" Hugh asked and looked at me. "Nothing." I replied and he smiled. "Great do you want to come over to my house after school?" He asked.
"Sure. " I said and he smiled more.

'After school'
"So what bands are you into?" Hugh asked while we were walking.
"I really like All Time Low, Blink 182, Bring Me The Horizon, Sleeping with Sirens and Pierce the Veil. " I replied.
"Oh cool me too."Hugh said and we walked up to his house.
"Hi Hugh. Oh hello Millard, Hugh didn't tell me you were coming over. " Hugh's mom said when we walked in the house.
"We're going up to my room." Hugh said and grabbed my hand.

Hugh's POV:
"I forgot, what day is it?" I asked
"It's Friday." Millard said.
"Oh there's this party tonight wanna go?" I asked excitedly.
"Oh um I'm not sure I don't do well in crowds. " he said looking embarrassed.
"Oh please come with me. I promise I'll stay with you the whole time" I said and he gave in.
'Yes this is going to be so fun' I thought and we started heading out to the party.
