I hope everyone has a great Christmas! Anyway, this was a really fun chapter to write and I hope you enjoy reading it!

Chapter 6
Without thinking twice, I clenched my fist and bashed it against the wall. Jane flinched as she sat on the edge of her bed, but she didn’t lift her gaze from the book she was reading.
“What the hell was that for!?” Flynn yelled as he stood beside me and examined the damage I had done to the wall.
I stared at the wall, taking slow deep breaths and blinking as if registering what I had just done.
“Oh calm down Flynn, you know Willow hasn’t shifted in six days.” Jane spoke for me, jumping off the bed and walking towards us.
Purple shadows were visible under her eyes as she walked closer. Jane looked as if she could collapse right there, but she was strong, she didn’t want any of us to worry about her.
Closing my eyes and choosing to ignore Jane and Flynn, I leant against the wall taking slow deep breaths. My eyes were probably a dark black by now, only a few flecks of brown remaining. Each day was harder and harder, I didn’t want to shift and I couldn’t anyway.
At night, the sound of gunfire is all that can be heard.
“There’s a festival tonight, maybe you can sneak away and shift. Surely people won’t be hunting.” I opened my eyes as Jane said this; she was reaching into her jeans pocket. “I’m not going to the festival.” Flynn snickered but stopped when I glared at him.
“You have to go though Willow! It’ll be fun!” Jane cried now pulling a brochure from her pocket and waving it in front of my face. “Everyone is going...” Jane added quickly, “Brent would be-“
“How do you know about Brent?” I snapped, my voice coming out as a squeak making Flynn laugh. Jane blushed before staring down at her feet, “You talk in your sleep...” She mumbled, her brown curly hair falling in front of her face creating a curtain.
I choked, “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“It was amusing...” Flynn said still laughing, wiping away imaginary tears. “Your coming to the festival though, Mum said I’m not allowed to go on the roller coaster without you being with me.”
I know I would regret my decision later, but going to the festival would be better than sitting at home curled up in a ball on the couch watching movies. Maybe Jane was right, maybe it would be fun.

The night sky was thick with pollution, clouds blocking the moon from view; but no one was paying attention to the sky as they walked around the festival.
Flynn continued to tug on my hand and point in different directions, jumping up and down excitedly, his eyes shining.
“Let’s go into the haunted house!” He shouted, tugging on my hand and forcing me to look in the direction of the haunted house. “Last time you wanted to go inside the haunted house you only made it two steps inside before wanting to leave.”
“Yeah but that was when I was younger, I’m much more mature now...” He trailed off, probably realising that he hadn’t grown up much in the past year.
I rolled my eyes before walking ahead, Flynn having to run to keep up with me.
“Willow!” I stopped and spun around facing Jane who had a sheepish smile etched across her face. “What did you do?” Was all I managed to gasp out as she stood there, hands behind her back.
