I don't remember much after that point. It was all a blur. I know Mrs. Calloway drove me to the hospital, Rowan by my side the whole time. I remember Matt being there. I remember hugging him, and crying, and most of all I remember saying bye to mom. I said "sorry", "I love you", "Say hi to dad", and"I wish I could've helped you." We didn't have enough money for a proper funeral, so that was the last time I'd get to see her. I kissed her on the forehead and I was then ushered out of the room.
Matt was given time off so we went home. We sat in the living room and ate ice cream together. We cried and watched old videos and looked at old pictures. Then we both went to bed, each with a bit of our heart gone.

I was out of school for a few days but when I got back I was sandwiched in a hug between Rowen and Rory. And honestly, that's what I needed in that moment.
