Matt was right! He did have a fun evening planned for my birthday! The fair (one of my favorite things as a kid) was in town and we were there until 9! I had even won a stuffed panda! Once we got home, Matt pulled large bag out of his car. "Aaaaaaaand now, for birthday presents!"
"Matt, you didn't have to do that!", I exclaimed!
" Yes I did! I can't let my little baby sister got without a birthday present or two!"
We both laughed and I started unwrapping the pretty paper. There were five presents. The first one was a medium sized box filled with clothes. They were really stylish and I decided I was going to wear them tomorrow! The second was a small box with a charm bracelet inside. I smiled at Matt. When I was little, I always called my candy bracelets "charm bracelets" , and Matt obviously remembered that! The third box had a book I could put my photos in! The next one was a few books! And the last one was the best of all. It was a little locket with a photo of my family inside. My family before dad died. Before Mom went berserk. That picture my perfect. Before I knew it tears were streaming down my cheeks while I repeatedly muttered "thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you."After sitting, crying, and talking a little bit longer, I went up to bed.

The next morning, Matt had an awesome breakfast made. Then I raced up the stairs and put on my new clothes ( skinny jeans, a garnet long sleeved sweater shirt, and brown boots), my charm bracelet, and the beautiful heart shaped locket.
Matt drove me to school and promised to pick me up after photography. I walked right into my first class and got to work. I was determined to make today a good day!
My first four classes flew by. By the time I got to lunch, I was in an amazing mood. I had grabbed my lunch and scurried off to the storage closet where I eat my lunch. I was digging to my sandwich when a fiery head of hair popped into the room. I rolled my eyes. Rowan. "Hey Renée!! So I know, you don't like talking, soooooo I was thinking I could do all the talking in this friendship. You don't have to say a word. I just talk to you, you could nod if ya want." She gasped " Or better yet, you could smile!!!"
As much as I didn't want to smile, I did. I just couldn't resist. The sarcasm was killing me.
"WOAH! You actually did smile! Hey we're making a breakthrough! So I guess you met my twin brother, Rory, yesterday. A pain isn't he?" Rowan through her wrist up to her forehead dramatically. I smiled and nodded. The girl was making an effort. I gotta give her something.•••
So after lunch, Rowan sat in the back with me for the rest of my classes. After 7th period, she said goodbye and I hurried off to photography, where Rory was anxiously awaiting me. " Hey! Renée! Ya see," he nodded to the white board," we have a parter project, and I was wondering if I could be you parter?"
Oh gosh.
