Union Dads

Chapter 1

George's P.O.V

"So it's settled then, you're adopting a child" Simon announced. "no no no no this can't happen" Jaymi shouted. God he really did not like the idea of this whole adoption thing. "Jaymi, I don't care what you think you four are adopting a child and that's final" Simon clarified one more time. Jaymi just huffed in response, I couldn't help but laugh at him.

"So what do think we should get a girl or a boy" JJ asked me as we all separated off into our own conversations. "I don't know but I kinda want a little girl you know" I replied "Yeh that would be pretty cool she would be spoilt rotten ahahah" JJ said.

"Erm Simon" Josh began "who would be the kids legal guardian though". "Well Josh I don't really know. You would all take care of him or her equally but I do agree that the kid needs one of you to be its legal guardian" Simon answered. "ooh ooh we could pull straws and whoever pulls the shortest straw is the guardian" JJ suggested so that's what we did.

Simon went off into the kitchen and came back with four straws. "Ok guys fair play here no cheating" he said as he placed the straws into a plastic cup "1,2,3 go" Jaymi exclaimed and with that all of our hands dived into the glass. We each took a straw out and measure them against each other.

Jaymi had pulled the tallest one out much to his relief and JJ had the next tallest. It was between me and Josh. You could clearly tell that I had pulled the shortest straw. I was going to be a dad to this child.

2 days later

We had all agreed on adopting a little girl between the ages of 6-10. We were finally here I can't believe that this is really happening. I was sat in the waiting room, which might I say is highly uncomfortable, when a middle aged strict looking woman walked in.

"I understand you are looking into adoption" she asked "yeh yeh we are" JJ answered. "good that mean one less brat for me to take care of" she muttered under her breath but everyone heard. I was going to say something but I forced myself not to. "Im kinda glad that we're going to save a kid from being around her any longer" Jaymi whispered to me. I nodded in agreement.

"GIRLS GET YOUR BUTS DOWN HERE" the adoption lady yelled as several girls made their way down the wooden stairs. They all lined up in single file and I couldn't help but notice how ragged their clothes were. "take your pick" the woman said to us.

We looked down the line of girls feeling equally sorry for them all until we reached the end of the line. The last girl looked around 7 years old and was silently crying to herself.I knew there and then that there was something more to her story and had to save her from this place. "how about that one on the end" I said to Jaymi. "I don't know George I kinda like that one" he said whilst pointing to another small girl. "But Jay i'm going to be her legal guardian so I think we should get her what does everyone else think" I said. The other two nodded in agreement

"We'd like the one on the end" I said to the adoption lady.

The woman gestured for us to follow her into the room where i'm guessing we will sign the adoption papers. "So the brat you've chosen to adopt is called Olivia, she's 7 and has had a pretty bad past" she informed us. "how bad was her past" I asked. "Well Mr Shelley, Olivia's parent were murdered by their best friend when she was 3. Their friend ended up taking Olivia in but he constantly abused her" She said. I couldn't help but feel sorry for her she's had a pretty bad past and I hope we can make her current life better.

"So who will be her legal guardian" the adoption woman asked. "I will I said" as I raised my hand slightly. "Ok Mr Shelley just sign here, here and here and I will go and get Olivia for you" She said as I picked up the pen. She swiftly left the room and came back moment later with the small girl.

"Olivia sweetheart meet your new dad. They're going to adopt you" She said.

Woooohooooo this was the first chapter of Union Dads snazzy I know wasn't it. Not really much happening but it shalt get better I promiiisssee. I'm kinda hyper at the moment pfft I bet it was those Pringles. The next update will probably be Sunday maybes hopefully.
