The State of Euphoria

Prologue

"Hello, and welcome! Euphoria welcomes you! For some of you, your entire Life's work has brought you to this point, and for the others someone else's Life work has brought you to this point. Either way, you are here."

A hundred scared faces keep their eyes on the woman before them. They can't look anywhere else. She is beautiful. Breathtaking. Her silver hair tied tightly on her head, the way all of her features stand out. Her high cheekbones are brushed with powder and her smile is bright and happy. Her green eyes are mesmerizing and they grab the attention of everyone in the room and those who are just coming in.

"For those of you who are just finishing up processing; welcome! My name is Lucia. Euphoria is very happy to have you. Before you are a full fledged member of our society, you have to go through five phases. Some will take longer than others. Each of you were given a packet before you were processed. This packet is your ticket into Euphoria. If you lose it, we will not let you in. Not because we don't want you, but only because we are about order."

"All of you only have four phases left, as you have already been processed. Now, listen, I will only say this once. Phase Two consists of two parts. The first is The Cleanse. We will wash you all of the impurities from Nostalgia. After that, is The Choosing. You will choose a path on which you would like to enter Euphoria. First, for some of you, you may keep all memories of Nostalgia and remember where you came from because you worked hard to be here. For most of you, you will choose to have your memories filled of only Euphoria. Your entire life, as if you have lived here."

"For the rest of you, you may choose to have every memory before Euphoria destroyed and you can start over, a new life. After your cleanse, your chest will be marked with a corresponding indicator of which process you will be sent to. Throughout the rest of the phases you will be asked countless times if the path you choose is the one you wish to go on. Please don't get impatient with us for asking so many times, we only want you to make the choice you truly want."

"Phase three is The Fingerprint. We will take each one of your fingerprints and a few samples of your blood for medical purposes, as each person's blood is rooted specifically to them. Phase Four is Identity. You will choose everything you want. From your name, to your eye color, to your height, and your shoe size. Phase Five is The Change. You will visit with one of our doctors and they will make all of your alterations and finalize, after asking again, about three times, which path you choose."

"Once you are done, you are free to enter Euphoria, but only if you have your packet with you. Understood."

A hundred faces nod in unison, holding onto the packets tighter.

"That's what I like. Now, I do wish I could be here to see all of your beautiful transformations, but unfortunately, I have a very important meeting to get to. Please enjoy your day. I am so happy you have decided to join Euphoria. I will see you inside."

"Remember, my beauties, Honor, Integrity, Community, Kindness."
