Part 1: A Well Deserved Shore Leave

Kirk sat in his chair with his fingertips massaging his temples. He was required to make a captain's log, but there was nothing to report. "Stardate 1312.4, Captain James T. Kirk of the Enterprise reporting. We have been at warp speed for the entire first two weeks of the 5 year voyage. Our current mission is to reach uncharted territory, and so far it has been uneventful," Kirk finished with a sigh.

"With all due respect Captain," Spock said walking up behind Kirk, "you sounded discontent with the fact that we have not yet had any disruptions in our voyage."

Kirk couldn't deny that Spock was correct, "I was just hoping 5 years in space would be a little more you now.... exciting." All Spock did was raise his eyebrow, and Kirk shook his head and let out a chuckle.

Kirk was about to continue, but then his personal intercom located on the Captain's chair went off. "Keptin," it was Scotty voice, but he was whispering for an unknown reason.

"Hey Scotty, how's it going on down there?" Kirk said in a semi-cheery voice.

"She will nae leave me aloyn sair," Scotty explained, but neither Kirk nor Spock understood what was going on.

"Mr. Scott, please clarify," Spock intercepted, "who is this 'she'?"

"Sienna," Scotty said still keeping his voice hushed, "She is studyin' all the instruments doon haur, and she will nae leave meh aloyn!"

Kirk had a good laugh, Sienna was the probably the most curious person he has ever met, and within the first few days of the voyage, she had already studied half the ship. "Don't worry Scotty I will get Spock to handle her, bridge out." Kirk ended the conversation and then put his attention on Spock, "do you mind distracting Sienna with another part of the ship, that would not disturb any of our crew."

"That would be impossible sir," Spock stated, "she has already studied every part of the ship except for Medbay, but Dr. McCoy threatened her. He said and I quote, 'That the next she steps into his Medbay, she had better be dying or else I would knock her out for the next two weeks.'"

"Oh, Sienna," Kirk sighed, "What am I going to do with her?" Kirk asked himself, but Spock did not seem to hint at the expression.

"I am not certain with what you are going to do, but I would advise that you confine her to her quarters if she continues to act this way," Spock replied as usual emotionless self.

As if Kirk did not hear Spock's response he looked around the room and then asked, "Where has Carol run off to?"

"I believe Dr. Marcus is currently with Sienna," Spock informed.

"We should go save Scotty from our science officers," Kirk walked to the turbolift with Spock right behind him.

Both Kirk and Spock walked quickly down the corridors to the engine room. When they turned a corner the two men bumped into Dr. Marcus. "Kirk, Spock," Carol acknowledge, "What are you two doing down here?"

With a smile, Kirk answered, "We are here to retrieve Sienna; is she still in engineering?"

"No, she left a couple minutes ago, but I am not sure where she walked off to though," Carol commented looking deep into Kirk eyes. She was searching for something, but whatever Carol was looking for she did not find because she broke her gaze quickly.

Then all of a sudden the intercom went off, "Dr. McCoy to Kirk," Bone's voice sounded clear.

"Kirk here; what's up Bones?" Kirk asked curious to see why Dr. McCoy would need to get speak with him.
