This is my first story to wright up on here! Lets get this started ^.^
CHAPTER 1
"Oh come on!" Kayla complained, as always. "Emmy" Kayla said, looking at me as she said my nickname. I sighed, "Kay, I'm just not comfortable with doing that... " I mumbled.
Kayla looked at me, her brown eyes full of mischief. I couldn't help but notice her hair, which she had dyed yet again! well, the main color was natural, but she had gotten low lights and highlights all over the place. Right now her hair was brown with bleach blond high lights.
"Em's!" Kayla yelled, snapping me out of it. "What?" I mumbled. Kayla and i really were complete opposites. She was the bad girl, going out to parties, letting any boy use her. She liked it all, which I didn't get. Now she was trying to get ME to go to one of her crazy parties. Which I didn't plan on doing.
"I have homework this weekend" I said. Kayla rolled her eyes, "You take, like, 10 minutes to do your homework! Nerd!" Kayla smirked, knowing I hated being called a nerd. Yes, it was true. I was in all pre-ap classes, always had all A's, and never failed a test. That was a lot for a sophomore like me. Kayla and I were both 16, only Kayla had to take some freshman classes over..
"What is with you today?!" Kayla yelled. "Huh?" I mumbled, "Oh, sorry, just not paying much attention" I flashed a small smile as I spoke. "Well, you are going to the party, whether you like it or not" Kayla said, crossing her arms stubbornly. "People won't like me there" I said, starting to run out of excuses.
"People won't mind, they don't even know you! Besides, its not like you're ugly! Guys are always stalking you.! You just are too blond to realize anything!" Kayla yelled at me. "Yeah right" I mumbled. "There's nothing pretty about me... I haven't even had my first kiss yet..." I frowned, thinking about it.
Kayla slapped me, getting annoyed again. "Thats because you're too shy! Everyone I know would KILL to have a body like yours! Guy's also love blondes!" Kayla growled at me. "Big whoop, i have blond hair" I mumbled. Kayla sighed "Golden blond hair, thats LONG, and PRETTY! I got an idea, I'll go to your house tonight before the party, pick out your cloths, and do your makeup!" Kayla squealed happily and took off. "Just great" I mumbled.
School went by like a blur after that, I mostly talked to my best friend, Sally. Sally was Kayla's older sister, i've been both of their friends since kindergarden. Sadly though, Sally wasn't going to the party and I had no way out of it. "I still don't get why you won't go with me" I told her. Sally just smiled up at me though. She was 5'2, and I was 5'6. I was taller then Kayla who was 5'5. Sally moved her long brown hair out of her freckly face. It was still hard to believe they were sisters.
Kayla had tan skin, tall and skinny with a long torso and short legs. Sally was on the short side, covered in freckles. She was more big boned, but wasn't fat. Her eyes were a pretty hazel that sometimes looked green, and other times looked blue. Her eyes were kinda like mine, but mine had a wider range of color. Night sky blue, sea blue, sky blue, emerald green, and when I'm mad, they turn to a storm cloud grey.
"I kinda feel sorry for you, you're a good girl... And you're going to one of the craziest parties of the year..." Sally frowned at me, mockingly. I rolled my eyes. Everyone at the school THOUGHT I was the 'perfect child'. That wasn't exactly the case though. Sally, and Kayla both knew it. That's why Kayla know's I'd fit in at the party if I really tried
"Hey! I've only gotten drunk a few times... And I've never done drugs" I said. Sally rolled her eyes, "Just don't drink anything at the party, you know how fast you get drunk. Those guys will take advantage of you without a doubt." Sally frowned.
"I know, thats why I want you to come with me!" I said, crossing my arms over my chest. Sally rolled her eyes, "Bye Emmy" she said as she got on the bus. I sighed, walking over to my mom's car. I got in the back seat, looking up at my older brother and mom.
My brother's green eyes rolled and he looked out the window. His crazy light brownish hair was curled up and sticking out everywhere. He tried to keep it down, but his hair had a mind of its own. "What took so long?" My mother asked me suspiciously.
"I was making out with some guys" I joked rolling my eyes.
My mother rolled her eyes and started driving. "You better be glad you can joke around with me" she said. I smiled and nodded, putting my headphones on and turning on music.
I stared out the window all the way home, just listening to my music. Soon, the car stopped. I quickly slung my bag over my shoulder and got out of the car. "Where's dad?" I asked. " In his workshop " my mother said, nodding towards the small building at the side of our house.
I smiled, my dad had built the workshop this summer. He was a carpenter, so it came out really well. I walked over and knocked on the open door. My dad stopped working on the cabinets he was making and smiled down at me. My dad was 6'6, which does explain why my brother is only 17 and he's 6'4.
"Hey Emalyn, how was school?" My dad asked as he looked back at the cabinet. I shrugged my shoulders, "It was ok. Sally wants me to hang out with her later on. So Kayla is going to come pick me up" I lied. I knew my dad wouldn't let me go if he knew the truth. Then Kayla would make me sneak out, which would cause more trouble. My dad continued working on the cabinet, nodding his head. "Thats ok, it is a friday night." He said. I smiled and hugged him "Thanks daddy" I said sweetly.
I walked out of the workshop and over to the house, opening he door and going inside. As usual, i threw my bags on the couch and went straight to the kitchen. What can i say, i love food. Its ok though, i can't gain any weight. Believe me, i've tried.
I quickly ate a snack before going to my room. I smiled seeing my electric keyboard. Another thing you should know about me, I'm music girl. I even write songs. I wanted to be in a band, but my friends were too chicken to actually go up on stage. Usually its the shy girl that holds people back, right? Well, not in this case. I don't like the spotlight, but when I'm up on stage... I just forget about my problems and have fun.
I jumped as my cellphone rang. I sighed and answered, "Hello?" I heard Kayla's voice on the other line. "I'm on my way over! Lets get ready to PAR-TAY!"
