Riley's POV
*the morning when Aaron is walking home*

*BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP*

"Ugh!" I groan, and roll over to press the snooze button on my phone '9:47 am' it reads. I slowly struggle to get out of my bed, leaving my only sanctuary of warmth. I hate having to get up for work, lunch shifts are the worst.

I am too lazy to even walk to the shower, but I do walk into the kitchen, because you know....food. I grab some cereal and pour myself a bowl and devour the whole bowl in less than a minute.

I walk back to my room, as if I'm a zombie, and grab my phone from the charger off my bed. I then click the first playlist I spot and turn the volume up.

I change and brush out my hair, putting it up in a high bun. Not really caring about my appearance, I have nobody to impress at my job anyway. I check my phone again '10:17 am'. 'Okay, good timing' think to myself.

I grab my keys to my old car, and pull out of the driveway heading off to work.

About 20 minutes later I pull into the parking lot and walk through the back door waving to everyone as I clock myself in. I work in a restaurant, as a hostess, so when I get here early there's not much I can do. We open in about 10 minutes so I clean off some tables and windows, keeping myself busy.

"Hey Riley" Kyle says to me as he walks up to the front desk.

"Hi Kyle" I reply back to him. Oh god I didn't know he was working he's so annoying. He's a manager, so technically he's one of my bosses.

"So today I'm gonna need you to help train a new host, you think you can handle that?" He says to my with a questionable look in his eyes.

I've been working here for about 3 years he doesn't think I can handle that. 'I can do that shit in my sleep' but instead I just nod and smile.

"We'll see I guess, he should be here soon so get ready and don't mess up. Also, I have some business to handle so I'll be in the office" and with that, he marches off.

'What a dick'

It's about 11:45 and the new guy still hasn't shown up. I pick up some menus that fell to the floor. Wow, what a great start for his first day. Just as I'm thinking this he walks in and I stop what I'm doing and drop the menus to the floor, again.

These poor menus can't get a break.

It's Aaron. Aaron. As in a really hot, but a total douche guy in my grade, Aaron. His eyes meet mine and we both look down to the floor but he steps around, while I scramble to pick them up.

'Jerk'

"Uh...hi?" I say awkwardly.

"Hey" he says cooly.

'Does he not recognize me? What the hell'

"I'm Riley...." I respond trying to get him to say something. He nods slowly, yet I can't decipher whether this is confirming information he already knew or this is completely new.

I look to the floor studying my feet and the carpet. I hate looking people in the eye. I can't do it.

"I know who you are" he speaks randomly. I study his face for a moment. His blonde hair falls against his head, yet he has bags under his eyes. He seems tired? My eyes flicker to his and soon his brown eyes are burning into my hazel ones.

Usually this would make me uncomfortable, but it's.....different. Strange.

A small smile appears on my face, yet a smirk appears on his. Oh god I feel my heart rate increase for some reason.

What is happening?

"I was in your science class....freshman year." He says using emphasis on freshman, still holding that stupid smirk of his.

My eyes widen to his previous statement. NO. NO. NO. THAT IS THE MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENT OF MY LIFE.

I deliberately try changing the subject and blurt "Why do you look so tired?"

His smirk still apparent, he realizes what I'm trying to do yet lets it slide and answers "I was up all night at party."

I roll my eyes to this, of course he was. What else does Aaron do besides sleep around and party. I mumble an 'of course' just as a few costumers come up to be seated.

"Hi how many people?" I say with a smile, just as a creepy guy walks up with an odd smile. "Hi there pretty thing" he leans against me in a strange position. A frown takes over my face as I try to lean away.

Aaron notices this and says "Excuse me sir how many people do you have?" Hoping this creep will get off me, I move a little more. My hopes are crushed when he continues his previous actions.

He says "What's your name?"

Maybe if I just answer he'll leave me alone. So I say I'm a hushed tone "Riley"

"Riley! That's a pretty name!" I still can't decipher if this old guy is drunk or has something wrong in his head.

Aaron finally comes over and pushes between us, and seats him in the back so we never see him again.
