Reviewing time!!:P (seriously Doff?) :)
Before you read on, this isn't gonna be like a critic review or anything, it's lierally going to be saying what I think is amazing about it, original about it, and why SallySlater definetely one of the few who actually deserve to be on the hotlist.
If you aren't a fantasy lover, there's a chance you wouldn't enjoy this book, but there's also a chance that you would, so shutup and deal with it! ;)

Paladin by SallySlater
This book is a take on Mulan, based around a girl who dresses up as a boy in order to become a Paladin. There is a reason behind this in the story, bu I'm not about to go completely in depth about it, so sorry guys!:) It'll make you read it though:P
The great thing about it being based around Mulan is that though the story has been done before, it prooves that she has acuall though around for what to write about. Some people just go cliche, don't really think about the story line, and go straight into writing!
Trust me...those people don't go far.
SallySlater clearly thought through her characters, and though their origins are from Mulan, she's personalised them so that it isn't a copy.
And yes, my opinion may be slightly biased because firstly, I love fanasy and her book. And secondly, I love Mulan:)
But hey! You chose to read my completely opinionated and biased book so thats your problem:P lol
Moving on...
Her use of words is quite variant. She uses lots of words to place the description on a whole new level. An example of this would be near the beginning...infact right at the beginning, when it says: 'her skinny legs swinging back and forth as she hugged the thick trunk for balance.'
Unlike some who would probably just write:'her legs swinging forwards and backwards as she held onto the tree.'
This is acually ok, but noway near as good as what SallySlater did.
The use of 'hugging' as though the tree were a friend, and 'a thick trunk', really putting a clear picture in your mind of a yound girl stretching her arms to fit round he trunk.
She's good at planting pictures...thats all I can say:)
Not only this, her story constantly kept you on the edge, and it wasn't all that predictable. These sort f storyies keep you reading, as though invisible super glue prevented your eyes from leaving the screen! Go SallySlater! :D
If I made a list of all my favourite books on wattpad, Paladin would definitely be up there!!

Sorry that this was so brief, but like I said, I won't be writing the reviews as though I was a critic, I'll just be complementing...and err, hinting heavily for you to go and read them:P
Next chapter:
Ranting time starts again:P
Bye for now...
