Proloque

I've always wanted to be like all of them.

Pretty

Skinny

Clean skin

Simply just perfect.

I made my way down the corridors as people went to their usual classes. I rapidly opened my locker as I clumsily pushed my books in, my thick framed glasses sliding a little down my nose. I pushed them up swiftly as I took out my math books and grabbed my bottle of water.

People around me were chatting and laughing with their friends. I wished I had friends I could joke around with, even if it only was to tell them my lame attempts to joke.

I'm not a friend person. Nobody likes me. In their eyes, I'm just a simple nerd.

I watched as the group of the schools most wanted girls walked down the corridor. All the boys' eyes went to look at them. Who wouldn't? They looked like Victoria's Secrets Models!

I felt my heart beat faster at them sight of him. He was wearing a white t-shirt with an unbottoned plaid dark blue shirt over, his jeans hanging low on his hips. He stopped right in front of one of the girls, Amalie, smiling at her as they discussed something. I felt my heart shrink in my chest as I continued to look at the two. His eyes were shining only for her, and she was smiling only for him. I slowly looked away from them as I focused on my math homework. I had completed it yesterday, but I had to check if the answers were correct. Math is not my strongest subject.

The bell rang. I closed my book swiftly and pushed my glasses up to my eyes again. They kept sinking and sinking down my nose. I knew I should have bought a smaller size.

I started to walk towards class as I accidently dunked my shoulder against someone. My books were suddenly thrown to the ground and a pair of perfectly manicured hands pushed me backwards. I lost my balance and fell bum first onto the hard floor.

"Watch were you're going fatass" Amalie snapped, her friends laughing along with her. I muttered a small 'sorry' as I tried to pick myself up from the ground. Amalie bowed down and pushed me down again, making me lose my balance again and fall onto the floor again. They laughed again and I felt the tears brim up in the corner of my eyes. I waited until they had walked away before I tried to pick myself up from the ground again.

"Devi Collins, you're late" The teacher said as I silently entered the class, closing the door gently. I heard a lot of whispering coming from the people who were already seated. I felt tears brim up in my eyes, knowing they were laughing at my apparence.

"Go take a seat, and don't let this happen again" He said as he gave me a comforting smile. A small smile appeared on my lips but it quickly faded when I tripped over my own feet and stumbled onto the ground. My books fell on the floor and all my notes were sprawled around the floor. People started laughing, making the tears that had built their way onto my eyes fall down freely. I rapidly picked up my books and notes as I strolled to the back of the class room, tears staining my cheeks.

The bell rang. This was my favorite part of the day. I could finally go home and relax, cry in peace without anyone making fun of me.

"Hey fatass" I heard her high pitched voice scream from across the corridor. Tears blur my view as I turn around and find everyone laughing at me. Niall comes walking towards Amalie as he wraps his arm around her, laughing at me and crushing my heart under his feet. Literally.

"Don't eat to much!" Niall yelled as he doubled over in laughter. The tears fell from the corner of my eyes as I ran out of the school buildning, the tears making it difficult for me to see.
