The Soldiers That Fought
The graves of the determined soldiers,
The war they fought.
It was tragic,
Yet they kept strong willed.
The gun shots of the enemies,
The remarkable dodges and ducks.
Medics and Aids running,
Here and there to keep their loyalty strong.
It hurt to know for them and for us,
They were in pain hurting inside and out.
But they kept the prideful emotions,
And some were still standing.
None the less came out changed,
New men with a different face.
Faithful knowing,
Their old friends and comrades were in a good place.
Because they all knew that this war they fought in,
Was all worth it at the point.
Where they were trying so hard,
For their own loved ones.
Fear and rage,
Over and over.
Where they had to hide and run,
Keep it on low.
Hours and hours in those,
Wretched trenches.
Mighty tries,
For those thoughtful veterans.
Peace Keepers,
And Soldiers.
When in doubt they only thought,
Of how happy and safe,
Their loved ones would be..
Grateful and fearless,
Living for only their families.
Poppies they laid,
Graves row in row.
The soldiers that passed,
Are now peaceful at rest.
For at Vimy Ridge,
They had given their plentiful lives.
