Our illnesses you use as adjectives
With these you joke yet when we come to the surface, society deems us untouchables.
Insane
Incurable
Damned
Why if we are so
Do you use these illnesses
Theses bringers of wrought
As adjectives
As ways to describe your perfect world
To describe your annoyance
Or perhaps
You use them to gain
To watch a little number on a screen go up
You say you suffer to gain the number
But will it matter
When you are six feet under
How many digital hearts
How many digital personas
You managed to gain pity from
You pretend to use our illnesses
Our apparent adjectives
To stand apart as a sufferer
Yet when someone you know
Shows you those unattractive symptoms
The non poetic ones
Lock them away you say
They need meds you say
I'm not crazy you say
