Chapter 11 - Did I Hear That Right

Nona

Grandmother rushed towards me while popping me in the head with her palm.

"Grandmother!" I whined as I raced into her arms.

"Oh Nona!" she sighed as she staggered to hug me back. I looked at her face as it was stressed with worry. Even though she had tan skin she was white as a ghost. Her lips were dry and she had several bags under her eyes.

She gave me another hug.

"Sorry grandmother..." I told her meekly as she inhaled a deep breath. She pinched the bridge of her nose and closed her eyes.

"It should be your careless parents that should be saying sorry!" she hissed. She turned to my parents as she grumbled at them. My parents did not once glance at her eyes as they kept their heads down low, staring at the floor.

" Aww but Mom, she's fine here with this pack...." my dad managed to say.

" Ha, your just saying that because of the treaty! You should be ashamed of trading your own daughter to a different pack!" my grandmother starting hitting my dad with her bag. She lashed out at him, especially by pulling him by the ear. He winced in pain as he tried to pull back, but only made matters worse as she increased the pain. She twisted his ears until they turned a bright red color that changed into the rest of his face.

" Grandmother please stop hurting dad. I'm fine, I'm not hurt. I'm okay, really I am. I like this pack and I want to stay here" I told her, trying to calm her down.

"Are you insane? Your coming home right now young lady. I'm not letting you stay at this pack a minute longer. I leave for a couple of months and my grandchild is being traded into a different pack! How more absent-minded could your parents get!" she started to pull me towards the door.

"But..."

"No buts Nona. We are going home right this second and that is final! You understand, final. But don't worry, I found you a nice young boy that I want you to meet back home. I think you two will be perfect for each other. I mean, your already seventeen and your still mateless. You need to get out more often my dear."

 I whimpered even more.

Ugh, I forgot that my relationship with Trent was still a secret! No, this can't be happening. I don't want to go home, I don't want to meet another boy. I want to stay here, with Trent. He's my mate, I can't be apart from him.

Grandmother pulled me by the arm as I looked helplessly around. I resisted her pull, but her strength was too strong. She dragged me through the room and to the front door.

This is it! This is the end. I'm going to have to go back to my old life as a loner and stay locked up in my room for ages. Just when I thought it was all over, I got pulled back and my grandmother released me from her grip.

"Wait!" Trent pulled me back as grandmother looked back at him in shock.

"Nona can't leave." he said as my stomach fluttered. I smiled as I looked up at him with hopeful eyes.

" And why not? Who are you the Queen of England? My granddaughter is coming with me! She's not getting any younger you know." my grandmother stared him down as she raised an eyebrow at him.

" She cant go because,  because...." Trent stuttered as my eyes widened. I started to get excited as I bit my lip.

Is he going to say it?

Is he going to say were mates!

"She can't leave because she is part of the contract! It's coded in ink and signed by your son that your granddaughter is to be a permanent member of the Blue Blood pack!" he smirked at himself as I rolled my eyes. How idiotic, of course he wouldn't have the balls to tell everyone in this room were mates.

Why did I even get my hopes up?

"Contract! What, were you dropped when you were little or something? I don't care about the stupid contract anymore, unless your her mate then no deal buster!" Trent's smile was gone in a flash as his face turned dazed. He was embarrassed and he suddenly turned red, it was cute, but it just made Trent burn up even more as he looked back at me. I could hear him growling underneath his breath.

"Wait! My son's right, we have a contract! Nona cant leave unless I say so, right Dave?" the old alpha  glanced back at my father who just nodded in fear.

"He's right mom. I already signed the contract. I can't go back on my word, it's werewolf code." my dad added.

My grandmother growled. She looked like she wanted to rip my dad in two.

" Well  then let's make a deal." my grandmother said coldly as her face hardened. She and the alpha locked eye to eye. It felt like there was a thunder storm over their heads because of all the tension in the room." Since you like my granddaughter so much, I'll make a deal with you. She can stay, but.... she has to get married to him." Everyone's head turned around to look at Trent. His finger pointed at himself in disbelief as his mouth dropped.

  " ME?"

" HIM?" We both asked staring at each other with paralyzed faces.

I watched as the alpha thought about it for only a few seconds before smiling and putting his hand toward's my grandmother.

"Deal." he said as my grandmother just smiled shaking his hand. I felt like the terrorizing thunderstorm that once stood as a mental picture in my head turned into reality and became hell. Everyone in the room gasped and my mother fell to the floor. I turned my head towards Trent who also did the same and we both shouted out load.

 " What.The.Hell?"

Marriage...

With this guy? Oh my god!

I can't marry him, well not yet at least. It's too soon, I only just met Trent a few days ago. Sure he's my mate and all, but marriage. No, it's impossible.

Just impossible.

The traditional werewolf marriage consist of two people being bonded together by a red string that connects them by the wrist. The ceremony takes place at night fall, during a full moon, in front of the whole pack. The couple will confess their love for each other and sip the waters of the Twenty-Ninth River. The Twenty-Ninth River is said to be were the Moon Goddess herself, got married to her husband,  God of Night. The water is suppose to bring good luck to a newly wed couple, were they will be forever bonded by love and passion. After the ceremony, the couple will then spend a full week in a isolated cabin, alone, in the woods, were no other person will be.

I don't think I'm ready for such a big commitment.

My head started to hurt and my eye sight turned fuzzy. My knees buckled together and I could feel the whole room spinning. I allowed my legs to fall and my whole body was soon sprawled up on the floor.

I blacked out.
