Chapter 16: A Bloody Nightmare

(Giles returns with the room keys and finds Spike leaning against Embers hotel door with his head between his knees, hitting himself on the head.)

Giles- What's going on? Is Ember alright?

Spike- She absorbed part of the vampire and now she's having visions of its past killings. Now, she has some demon in her. Just bloody brilliant!

Giles- Oh dear god! (Giles knocks on the door and Buffy answers the door.) Is there anything I can do for her?

Buffy- Get her some help and fast, I think she's losing herself in the demon.

Spike- Help is already on the way love.

Buffy- What! Who did you call?

Spike- The only guy who has experienced anything close to what she's going through. Angel will know what to do, hopefully.

Buffy- Fantastic, now we'll have two vampires who have feelings for me here. Are you really that selfish?

Giles- He's just trying to help Ember.

Buffy- No, he's just thinking of himself.

Spike- You need to shut the hell up and listen to me. I did this for her, not you, and not for me, her. It's my duty to help and protect her. I already failed protecting her and I am not going to fail on helping her. Do you want her to suffer? (No answer) Do you?! (loudly)

Buffy- No! Wait out here, I'll see if Willow can do anything else. (Spike and Giles wait for Buffy, finally she lets them in and Ember is sitting on the bed with her legs crossed and her eyes closed. When she hears them come in, she opens her eyes and starts to whisper something.)

Giles- What is she saying?

Willow- She's been whispering things since Spike left the room, stopped, and started up again.

Spike- Let me try something? (Spike gets in close so he can hear what she's saying.)

Ember- (Whispering) William the bloody... William the bloody... William the bloody... Blood is all he knows. (Normal voice) Why are you here William? You want to taste another slayer don't you?

Spike- I'm here to help you Ember..., do you remember?

Ember- Of course you are, I see now.

Buffy- What does she mean Spike?

Spike- I don't know but, we need Angel quick. (After the sun sets, they hear a knock at the door. Angel is standing there waiting for them to open the door, Buffy sits to Ember, distracting herself from Angels attention.)

Angel- How's she doing?

Giles- Not good, all she does now is say odd things and rock back and forth. She's going mad I fear.

Spike- You need to do something and recommend quickly.

Angel- Hi Buffy, Willow.

Willow- Hey, how's L.A.?

Angel- Well, no longer apocalyptic. How's Konawa?

Willow- Cool and wet.

Angel- Everyone needs to leave except Spike. I'll need him in case Ember gets violent.

Buffy- Are you sure you don't need extra help? (She touches his arm and there is strong and tense stare.)

Ember- Ooh, Spike wishes he could have a piece of that.

Buffy- Gross Ember!

Ember- I meant mister tall, dark, and handsome. (Laughs evilly)

Buffy- Yeah, alright guys! Let's go! (Angel shuts the door behind them and Angel approaches Ember with caution.)
