The stairway creaked with every step of Sebastian's polished leather shoes as he made his way down to the basement.
He seemed skeptical but had a hint of determination in his fist.
He seemed lost but his shiny suitcase reflected light that would soon provide the guidance he seemed to lack.
He seemed nervous but trusted in his routine practises.
Finally having made his way to the basement, Sebastian slides the wooden panel to the side and takes a step in. It's dark. Faint silhouettes could be seen around the room.
Oh so pretty they looked! They sat upright in their pretty dresses with their pretty faces leaning to one side. Five clusters of three were spread out in a way that they formed a circle... Such a pretty circle!
"I had to find myself.. I had to find myself... No use looking for no one else.. 'Cause I'll be lonely till I find myself", Sebastian kept singing as he opened his suitcase and unpacked his tools.
All of a sudden, he stopped singing. He reached to a wall nearby and flipped the switch on. A bright white light blazed through the dull basement, revealing the true beauty of Sebastian's guests.
"Oh!" He exclaimed. "You all were so pretty with your dark blank faces...", he said, almost to himself. "No matter.. Not to sound self-absorbed but, tonight's about me ladies", he said as he slipped into bright blue gumboots. "Blue is my favourite colour", he said radiantly. However, his radiance soon faded away and was replaced with anger. He reached to the wall, that was covered in several little switches, and flipped one of them.
A buzz of electricity filled the air, which was almost immediately followed by the shrieks of the pretty girls. "Oops! Sorry! I didn't realise you had already been connected to the power", he said, quickly turning the switch off. "I meant to turn on the siren to gather some attention. I hate being ignored by my helpers you see. My apologies... Anyways, I was saying, blue is my favourite colour!" And just like that, his face was filled with radiance once again.
Bewilderment filled into the girls' pretty little eyes. "What on Earth- please help us! Please let us go it hurts.. Please! What is wrong with you!"
"Although, I've always liked red more.. But not on me..."
"What the hell are you saying!" shrieked another, almost out of breath. "Why are we here? Who are you! For Christ's sake let us go you freak!"
"Who am I?" Sebastian echoed, almost as if he was asking himself. "Well, that's what you pretty folk are going to help me out with today!"
"What the hell do you mean?" questioned another; a hint of fear laced her voice.
"You see.. I need to re-discover myself. I feel like I've lost my touch, the one thing that makes me stand out. And to answer one of your questions, about who I am, well I can't really answer that because I don't know.. yet". He took of his jacket and rolled up his sleeves. "But you'll get your answer soon; you'll be the one giving it to me, actually".
"Help! Can anyone hear us! Please help! Somebody!" "Yes somebody please! We're down here! Help us please!"
"I had to find myself.... No use looking for no one else...."
"HELPPP!!"
" I had to find myself... 'Cause I'll be lonely till I find myself.."
"Stop your god damn singing you bloody psychopath!" "Let us out! Please! Don't hurt us please I beg you!"
Sebastian turned around from his well spread tools on the desk. His eyes suddenly filled with an emotion that seemed like sadness. "I'm the one hurting.. Do you know how it feels? How it feels to not recognise the person in the mirror anymore?"
"Please.. Stop..." Crying and sobs echoed through the room followed with chairs grunting and scraping across the floor.
"DON'T RUIN THE FORMATION!" Sebastian boomed.
Suddenly everyone became silent. He let out a deep breath and clasped his hands together. "Girls.. order is very important to me. Without order, the music sounds crackly and broken." He turned back to his desk and picked up a hammer and a few nails. He walked to the first cluster of girls and knelt besides one of them.
His hands found the end of her skirt and he slowly pulled it up over her knee.
"What the hell are you doing! Don't touch me!" She screamed, as she tried to inch away. Sebastian's looked her dead in the eye and jerked the chair onto its back. The girl let out a scream as her head banged against the cold, moist floor.
"What are you doing to her!" screamed one of the girls in the cluster.
"Oh, I'm just pinning her down."
"Wha- Why are you doing this!"
"I need to get to you, all the way in, to discover who I am, from deep within..."
