[Elena's P.O.V]
I'm going to tell Stefan the truth, today. We are supposed to work on the history project, and we will I'll just sneak the part where I say 'hey Stefan, I actually really like you. But not in the friend kinda way.' That's a punch to the face for Caroline.

Can you imagine?

She wakes up, she looks at us and I have to tell her I like her boyfriend? I feel really bad and guilty, still.

But being around Stefan, he just makes everything seem..

Different. In a good way.

I don't know maybe Stefan is like that with everyone you know a rock. But I haven't felt like this in a long time.

I know it's not love, I've never felt it before. But in a way, I think you would just know. I don't believe in love at first sight, if all you see is their face than what's their to love other than their looks?

I'm seventeen, I hate worrying about this kind of thing. Especially a lot of people knowing I'm worrying.

I hate gossip, when it's about me I get really nervous and shaky. My dad used to help me figure this kind of stuff out.

Never once have I had a panic attack, and I sure as hell was not starting now. But my mind was going to explode if I didn't stop thinking.

I heard my phone ring, saved by the bell.

It was Stefan. I picked it up and answered.

"Hey Stefan."

"Elena, The doctors say Caroline should be waking up today!" Yay! Finally I can apologize and she can live her life again— with Stefan.

"That's great, I'll be the— actually I won't, Jeremy took the car." I'm now upset but happy all at the same time.

"Do you want me to pick you up?" Stefan asked.

"Yes, thank you." I sighed of relief.

We said our goodbyes and hung up. I had approximately 7 minutes until Stefan got to my house.

It's going to sound creepy but, I've timed the distance between our houses. He never noticed but I was just curious.

He's here.

Don't back down Elena, he deserves to know the truth. Maybe then it will go back to normal.

I opened the door to greet him with a smile.

"Hey Stefan, thanks again for driving me."

"No problem." He smiled.

It was really cute. Like really cute.

We walked to his red Mini Cooper, and started to drive.

"So I guess we will never get any work done on this project." I laughed.

He did too.

"Aren't you glad? I mean it's school." We both laughed.

"Hey Stefan?" It was time.

"Yea?" He never took his eyes off the road.

"I have to tell you something, and I don't want this to ruin our friendship, or yours and Caroline's." I paused, looking at his face.

No, his eyes. Then his lips.

I just wanted to know how it felt, how it felt to be his, only for a moment.
