Story 2~Schoolboys. [P1]

Mark and Jack were in Year 10 (9th Grade for the Americans). They were both 15. They didn't really talk to each other. Jack was one of the geeky kids in class, always talking about video games and computers. Mark was in with all the sporty kids, the ones who are normally dickheads.

Jack and Mark were only in one class together, English. Their different groups of friends sat on different sides of the room, as far away from each other as possible. Most of the athletic boys were bullies to the geeky ones.

It was Monday afternoon, 4th lesson, English. "Right.", said Mr Smith, "Settle down kids. Another project is being given out today.". All the kids booed the teacher. "Stop that! Don't be so immature, unless you're wanting to go to detention with me after school.", he shouted.

The room went silent. "Can we pick partners?", asked one of the girls. "No.", replied the teacher, "I'm picking.". He picked two random people from the register to go together.

"Phil and Maisie,
Harry and George,
Brad and Samantha-"

"I ain't going with that nerd!", shouted Brad. Brad was the leader of the football (soccer), cricket, basketball and swimming team. He was the 'popular' guy and dickhead in the school. He was the leader of Mark's group of friends. Samantha is Jack's friend. She began crying.

Jack went over to her seat to comfort her. "SISSY BOY!", Brad shouted again. "Shut up!", shouted Jack. Brad mocked him. Jack stood up in anger clenching his fist. Samantha pushed on his shoulders, down towards the chair.

He sat back down. Brad got a detention after school for his stupid behaviour. He always gets detentions. Then, the teacher carried on.
