Janae's POV
It's been 3 days since I've asked people who she was. I've seen her almost everyday by my friends at the end of the school day and it's made me super happy. Today I was gonna ask what her name was. That's right I was growing balls.
The school day went by pretty fast and I was terrified because I knew that if I didn't talk to her today I would regret it.
As I walk down the hallway to the stairs, I saw one of my friends Larainda. Perfect I thought. I wouldn't have to go up to her by myself. I tell Lala(Larainda) about the girl and she said she's seen her around. Before I know it we're on the first floor. I decided it was time to get it over with and went looking for her. It wasn't that hard to find her because she stood out. I couldn't believe how nervous I was. I lifted my hand up and next thing I know I hit her in the forehead.
"What's your name?" I say as casually as possible. She's looking at me kind of confused, but she answers.
"Jaylyn."
Hm. Jaylyn I kept thinking in my head. That's cute. I got sidetracked with another conversation, so I didn't really get to talk to her. The rest of the school year I didn't really go to school (badass), but every chance I got I would hit her. She actually started hitting me back at one point. It hurt, but I refuse to admit that to her.
I remember one day I hit her so hard she cussed at me. She was so serious, it was just too cute. She got mad at me because I made her red.
Now this is gonna sound really bad, but I had forgotten her name at the time. It just slipped my mind and NOBODY ever said her name so I didn't know what to do. Until one glorious day when I was walking down the hallway with my friend Jahmila and she comes up to us talking about how all our names started with a J. We were talking about it all the way down the stairs going to our classes.
She was so fascinated with it, then I opened my mouth and said. "They all start with Ja actually" I was looking down when I said it because I was proud of myself for saying that. I'm a very shy person, but very loud once I get comfortable around you. As you can tell I wasn't comfortable around her yet.
I had zoned out so badly I hadn't known we were downstairs. Jahmila had gone over to her other friends and Jaylyn was in front of me talking to someone else. I had just walked to class because I didn't feel like talking to anyone.
All I could think about was her. I couldn't get her off my mind.
