When I awoke I sat up in bed, covered in sweat and instantly threw my donor off to cool myself down. Mum entered the room and took my hand. I shivered at how cold it was, but was relieved to be comforted by her after returning back to reality. 'Sweetie, are you alright?' She said, her eyes full of concern. 'Yes Mum' I assured her. 'Just another bad dream.' She placed her hand on my face, which seemed to be a bit warmer now— due to my body temperature being so high— and struggled to speak her next choice of words. 'I've been worried about you Jasmine, yo-you seem to have these dreams a lot more lately. Ma-maybe we should talk about__________?' 'No' I replied, more sharply then I intended. 'We don't need to talk about it.' 'Why not?' She said. 'If you won't talk to me then at least talk to your brother, your sister, even your father.' 'We're all worried sick about you.' I'd always felt I was different from my family. I wasn't smart like Montana. I wasn't athletic like Dean. I wasn't trusting like Mum and Dad, well.. I was nothing like him at all. I was of average intelligence. I was fit but not sporty. I was trusting, but only to the point where if someone stabs me in the back; that's the last chance they get and now that I thought about it... I was a bit like Dad. I had his sense of humour, which wasn't a bad quality to have in my situation. 'Jasmine?' Mum spoke softly. 'We only want to help you darling.' This is the part that hurt me most. The lying, the secrets and feeling alone to the point where I knew that if I confined in someone for help, they'd all think I was crazy and I'd be locked up in a mental asylum, never to be heard of again. 'I'm fine Mum, really.' Attempting to put on my best smile. 'I'm just tired you know?' 'I know' She said, kissing my forehead and tucking me in. 'I know.'
