(9 years later. Ella at age of 14)

Ella and her father weren't dressed in there usual attire today. As was Ella not in her usual mood. Today was in remembrance of a painful memory, a memory she had held herself responsible of for nine years. She wasn't the only one pained by this day, all the staff, and her father also mourned. Ella missed her mother terribly. "If only I where able to have gotten to the staff sooner," she often thought.

"Ella, my dear, is there something you wish to tell me?" Her father interrupted her thoughts. He wore a look of concern. Ella had never told him of her guilt over her mothers passing. Ella masked her emotions. She had to be brave, for her father.
"All I have to tell you is that I love you father." She put on a smile. That didn't fool him. For her sake he dropped it, but she knew he would bring it up again when it crossed his mind. Every year on this day, she and her father went to the lake where her mother died, and to grave that had been placed right next to it, to bring flowers and sit in silence.

As Ella sat she thought of her mothers death. She often did this because she had always thought that the death had been strange, for her mother was a very skilled horse women. Ella looked around, her eyes then darted over to the trees across the lake. She could be mistaken, but, no it couldn't have been. " Father did you happen to see a person, across the lake?" She asked. "No- Ella are you sure you are feeling well?" "Yes Father I feel-" "Miss  Lynew!?" Her father interrupted as he called for her maid.
A young women a couple years Ella's senior came running out.
Her eyes widened and she screamed and pointed to where a man in all black stood. All of the sudden her father moaned and clutched his side, after another moment he clutched his chest. He took a ragged breath.

" Father! Stay there let me get help!" ,Ella said. As she got to her feet her father said,

" No Ella this is it." His eyes shut in pain, " Ella dear I love you so very much. Your mother would be proud of you." Ella couldn't hold back her tears and let them flow freely. She slowly sat back down."Goodbye my love." he said. " I love you to father, goodbye." She said as her father took his last breath.
