War, war never changes. When the world was struck into a unforgiving wasteland by nuclear fire on October 23, 2077, few of the American population were spared the hell fire and radiation in huge underground bunkers, called vaults. Vaults were scattered along from the west to east coast. They had a easy system, one overseer and the rest of the residents. Of course, not all lived the perfect life underground....
Chapter 1: The beginning
Our story takes us to Vault 59, located in North Texas. It's been over 200 years since the bombs fell, and the vault still runs on its fusion generator and it's social experiment: No overseer. It may seem hectic with no big man on campus running the show, strangely enough, the term, 'No gods, no masters', comes into a nice system. You work and support the vault and help the vault community. It was like a neighborhood. It was justified and supported...until something happened in 2283. A group of men and women begun to state that a new system be installed, that system having a overseer. They wanted to 'revolutionize' the vault by adding a overseer, add hardcore security, and simply control the people. To get their way, they promised better jobs and a better future with the overseer. When that wasn't enough they turned ugly and begun to force the residents to help fight against the old system. Finally, after 5 months after the statement rose up, overseer Tommy Bruke was established. Bruke was 30, about 5", thick black hair that slicked back, pale skin, freckled, and a hateful personality. It's now in the year 2284, no one has ever thought of opening the vault door, mainly due to the, 'open the door and suffer law', Bruke established. A man named Jason Allman, 23, 5'6" strapping guy with long combed brown hair and a bronze complexion. Jason was around before the new system, desired to help the people he once loved working by. He wanted to revolt and maybe help his people escape the vault. He devised a plan to detract the guards with a late night protest in the east sector and move as many people to the north sector where the vault door was. The door was the most guarded of course, so he prayed they would move on east. While working in the nursery with his good friend, Amber. Amber was 22, petite, and tan with a glowing smile and dirty blond hair. She replayed with a nervous stare, "Are you serious, J?! Another roit? I..I really don't wanna see more of my friends and family die by the hands of some sick power hungry man...you almost got shot with that mouth of yours." "Look, Amber, isn't roit, it's a silent escape so that we can go peacefully...it can happen and it's best for the good people of the vau.." Before finishing, a guard with a husky body, rough face with a deep snapping voice and tone. "Watcha think your doin', eh Mr.Allmen? Skippin' on workin' with your chit chat? I outta show.." "Alright, alright, alright, I'm back to it, sorry." "Yeah, that's what I thought hehe." As Jason turned from the guard, he said, "..Bulldog..", under his breath. Like a dog with a good sense of sound, the guard twisted and screamed, "What was that, Mr. Allmen?!"
Jason, hiding his smile, replyed, "Nothing good sir, nothing at all". The guard scoffed and carryed on. As Jason waited for the loud echoing foot steps of boots to go away, he continued to say he's words.Chapter 2: Jason's Plan
"I don't want to watch the good people suffer any longer, Amber. You must look at what's gonna happen if sit and wait. More death, more brutality? It's gonna be like the people in Canada from before the war. Shot on sight if out of line. Do you wanna watch that?" Amber was convinced but questions and events were storming in her head. As she was about to reply, Jason was looking over his shoulder while stuffing 3 stimpacks in his pocket. Amber knew exactly what he was doing, but she asked what was he doing anyway. "I'm just preppin' for..you know?", he replyed quickly. Amber rolled her eyes and took a deep breath. "Jason, I'm not entirely on the boat, but let me ask a few questions." Satisfied, he replyed, "Okay, shoot." "Alright, 1st off, when will this happen?" Jason tilled his head and looked up left. "Emm about week? Maybe less if we can get everyone on board." "Ok, um, how will the distract team escape with us?" Jason was slightly stunned, then annoyed. "That's a good question, in which I can't awsner....didn't think about that one." Jason pondered as he patted his pocket full of stimpacks. Amber looked at her watch and realized it was lunch time. "Let's think about this later, lunch is ready.", she said as she was walking out the door. Jason followed, trying his best to hide the stimpacks. They wandered to the atrium and Amber saved seats. Jason strolled over to the line and grabbed 2 plates. "Hey Tim, how's the grill today?" Tim was the one of the chiefs in the café, so says Jason. Tim was an old family friend, 6'1" and dark compexion, greying slick hair. Tim replyed with a smile, "She's still cooking like she was, the day you were born." With chuckle, Jason asked, "So uh, what's on today's menu?" Tim got slightly shaky in his voice. "Uh, my special..burgers with Texas toast and..fries." Tim akwardky smiled. Jason stared with an eyebrow up. "You ok, Tim?" Tim frantically looked around then focused again at Jason. "Look uh..." Tim looked behind his shoulder. "Come back here, and be quiet." Jason and Tim ventured back into the kitchen, and Tim guided Jason into the storage room. Tim flipped the old switch and shut the door. Jason eager to know asked, "Tim, what's your problem?" "Ok, ok, ok, I wanted to tell you and only you, got it?" "Yeh Tim, of course." "Alright, well, the food storage is...running low. Like dangerously low...I'm afraid we can't all eat in about a week. That dumb oaf overseer destroyed most of our new crop plants for his new girlfriend, Jennifer, to have a garden." Jason knew that fate brought the events together. He thanked Tim and rushed out to Amber. "There you are, geez J, what took you so long?" "Eat, quickly. Tim told me something." Jason was shaking after the bite of his burger. "W..what? What's the matter?" Amber, nervous as ever, tried to get it out of him. "Just...I'll tell you back in the clinic, it's curutsal." When they were almost finished, overseer Burke appeared. 2 body guards followed. One was ordered to get him food and the other to stand. The overseer, waiting for his meal, started to look around the room in a cocky manner. His eyes grew huge and filled with anger. Burke saw a stimpack on the end of the food trays on the floor. Outraged, he stomped over to it and picked it up. He held on to it and begun screaming. "A stimpack?! Who dear god would steal a stimpack from me?! Who did it?! I will destroy you all if you do not come clean!" Jason froze and stared in awe. Burke began to wander around asking about the stimpack. "You, you sick little rat, you do it?! Huh?! Hey you?! Fats! You think stimpacks gonna hemp your weight?! How about you Ms. Connors?! You dirty whore, you do it?!" He twisted at Jason. "Hey Jason! You pethetic soul, you do it? Because you and her work in the clinic room...? He moved his eyes towards Jason's suit pocket. "What's in your pocket aye?" Jason slowly moved his hand down into it. As his hand reached his pocket, a old woman named Cindy Morrow shuffled over and stated, "Excuse me, Mr.Burke, but I took that stimpack. You see, I was in the clinic and I put down my medication to grab something and I somehow mistaken that stimpack for my meds. I am so sorry. Please forgive me." Burke instantly forgot about Jason and handed the stimpack to Cindy. He screamed, "I swear, you old hag better get it together instantly or I will not hesitate to punish you, granny." He stormed out of the atrium and the residents went back to harmony. Jason thanked God and scrambled to Cindy with Amber following. "Miss.Morrow, why would you lie?" Cindy was everyone's granny in the vault and she always felt the need to help when every she could. She replyed, "I won't let a midget man get to my boy, now let me ask you, why are you carrying stimpacks?" Jason, overwhelmed, replyed with a long sigh, "Cindy, if you come with me, I can tell you, but you must be quiet. Ok?" Cindy with a grin, shook her head. Jason looked over his shoulder at Tim. He waved to over. Tim took off his apron and told the others he's on break. Tim shuffled over and asked, "What's the matter, J?" "I need you three to follow me, it's most likely the most important thing since that freckle monster got into power." The 3 snickered and followed Jason into the clinic. Jason looked down the metal halls left and right for anyone. After no sign of anyone, Jason locked the clinic door, and turned to them. "Alright, it's been for too long for that evil man to rule over us, I say it's time we revolted. I devised a plan that is safe, secure, and can work perfectly....if lady luck will help us." He glanced back and forth at their eyes as he continued. "It's simple, we make the guards busy with something drastic and crazy, while we lead our people into the vault door room. While the guards are distracted, we can fight them off while Tim can lead them out. Cindy, you spread the news carefully. I know you like to gossip at bingo night. Amber, you help me with supplies. Tim, you still have that old Jack Shaidlin holotape?" Tim, surprised Jason remembered, replyed, "Of course, why do you ask? I don't think the guards will like the song that much?" "Not exactly, see I want to record over it. Act out a shoot out...no no, a suicide. That'll make them fight." All three looked at each other in confusion. Cindy asked, "How will we let the recording play on a pop boy if everyone's comin'?" Jason quickly replyed, "Well, I guess...Tim, still have that pre war terminal?" Tim appeared drained, and looked up at Jason, and nodded.
