Luke Nights.

Such a nice name.

Lana instantly forgot it.

As soon as the teacher began to teach again, Lana snuggled herself farther into the hoodie, hiding herself behind Jake's broad back. She valued her friend, she really did, and she wished she could do something for him in return for all his help, but it was hard enough literally walking to class, she didn't know if her help would be good enough.

So she sighed, and went to sleep, enjoying the small breeze that came through the open window. It sent small prickles down her spine, a familiar feeling when she was in the cold.

She dreamed of the person who carried her into class, his face was blurry and she couldn't put a name to it, but she knew the arms felt familiar. Either way it didn't last long until the final bell rang and Jake woke her up.

"Come on, Lana." Slowly, she stood up and began following Jake. He didn't live too far from Lana, but he still walked her home, knowing she'd probably get lost on the way.

They walked quietly, her near empty backpack hanging on her arm, visibly slowing her down. The cool wind blew and she stumbled in her steps, snuggling herself farther into the hoodie.

Finally, they reached Lana's home. A small victorian styled home where she, her twin brother, and her mother lived. Though it was rare to find her mother home due to work, so it was usually just Lana and Luis, her twin.

"Looks like you have new neighbors." Jake said, looking over at the house next door.

They moved in a couple of days before, but she paid no mind to it. It wasn't her business and it didn't affect her so she left them in peace. She looked over at some of the cardboard boxes getting unloaded from the large moving van. Seems they still had some stuff being delivered.

Lana nodded. "Luis went over to say hello, but I wasn't awake when he did so I haven't met them." Her eyes hooded in exhaustion. "Thank you Jake. I'll see you tomorrow." She gave him the tightest hug she could manage, which to Jake was basically a tap, and went into her house.

Luis was making dinner. "Hello, dear sister." He said cheerfully, the wide smile on his face broad and shining as he moved the pots and pans around. "I hope you had a wonderful day at school." Lana furrowed her brows as she sat on the counter, letting her bookbag fall onto the floor beneath her.

"I don't remember." She rubbed her eyes. Luis sighed with a soft smile.

"It's ok Lana, as long as you do your homework after dinner." He told her, to which she nodded.

Even though they were twins, Luis was a year ahead in school . He was so ambitious as a child, he skipped grades and is now in his freshman year of college. Still he couldn't leave home, knowing how dependent his younger by two minute sister was.

Since their mother was constantly working, Luis took it upon himself to stay home and watch Lana, taking over the responsibilities of a parent, including cooking, cleaning, and basically parenting Lana.

He placed the bowl of spaghetti in front of Lana, and a small smile graced her lips. "Edible food is the best." She mumbled, taking a small bite. "Thank you Luis." She hummed in delight as she ate the bowl. When it was nearly half done she sat back in her seat, patting her stomach. "Too much food." She groaned softly. "Nap." Lana laid her head on the counter, the cool marble shocking her skin.

"Homework first." Luis snapped his fingers at her ears and she groaned, sitting back up.

"Fine." She hopped off the stool and dragged her bag up the stairs into her room.

Oh how she hated those stairs. The effort needed to go up and down them only exhausted her more. Lana sat at her desk in front of the window and began her homework. Her eyes becoming hooded once again as her writing became slow. Soon her face was pushed against her papers as Lana desperately reached for peace.

"Hey." She shut her eyes farther, willing for the voice to go away. "Pst! Lana!" It whisper-shouted. Something hit her head and she slowly sat up, looking down at the paper plane that just hit her.

Furrowing her brows, she looked out her window and into the one across from her, into her neighboring house. There stood the boy who carried her into the class. He smirked and leaned his arms onto his window sill.

"Hello, darling." A silence filled the air before Lana tipped her head to the side in confusion and asked softly.

"Who are you?"
