"Come on ash! Come eat some more food before it goes cold!" Shouted my sister as she walked over to the gold out table that was full of food due to it being New Years. "I will I will! But I'm waiting for nana to get here first!" I shout back excited because I haven't seen her in months. "Remember she gets put of hospital today!" I add as I run over to my mother.
"Mum, when's nana getting here! She's taking a long time" I asked with a big smile on my face. "Soon Ashley, so go play till she's here" my mother says and walks away. I shrug my shoulders and run back to my sister and grab a plate of food and sit down with my sister to eat. Being 10 years old, I always wanted to join in with everyone so once I was finished I ran over to my uncle who was playing darts, "can I try uncle!" I asked and he chuckled. "No, your still to young to play this with us older men" he said and chuckled some more before continuing to play.
I pout and sigh before going to play with my sisters. Hours past and still no sign of my nana. "Ashley can you come here" called my Aunty so I raced out and joined her and my mother out on the porch. "What is it?" I asked, "your mother needs to tell you something" she said and I looked at my mum. "Hm?"
"Ashley.."
"Yes?" I smiled,
"Sit down" she said and I sat on a chair behind me. "What's going on?" I asked now my smile disappearing from my face. "It's your nana.." She started off, "she won't be coming today" she added. "Is she still sick? Can't I see her in hospital still?" I asked feeling alittle upset. "No..no.. Ashley..." She paused and looked at Aunty then back at me, "nana..died a few days ago.." She said as nicely and calmly as she could. "W-what..?!" I was shocked, I couldn't speak.
My eyes watered up and I choked on my words before bursting out into tears. "I'm so sorry..." My mother said and came over and gave me a big, comfort hug. "I didn't want to tell you yet... But you kept asking about her... I had to tell you sweetheart.." She said softly, knowing how upset I had become. I couldn't stop crying, nana was like a mother to me... Now she's gone...? Forever..? W-what can I do without her..? Nana..! No please..! Come back...! Please...
