"Come on Cake!" the soft silkiness of your mother's voice came excitedly from across the table, "blow out the candles" you lean over, take a deep breath and blow out the candles. Everyone else around the table applauded as you sat there smiling.
Your mother skips over and hugs you with a wide smile upon her face. "Oh, I can't believe my little princess turned six today. You are growing up so fast! Now, time for..."
"CAKE!" you quickly look up to see Marley running frantically around the living room, decorating it with birthday balloons and banners.
"Cake, come on! I know it's your birthday but you could at least help, can you please fetch the ribbons?"
"Sure"
You get up off the sofa and fetch the ribbons from the dining room table.
"Were you daydreaming about Jonghyun again? Marley asked, while knotting ribbons together into bows.
"Nah, I was just thinking about my sixth birthday party" you sigh.
"Ah yes, your sixth. That was the last time you saw your parents together"
"It was, Dad ran off with a younger woman after that"
"That's right, your stepmum"
"Yep" you emphasized, angrily knotting the ribbons.
"Hey, it's okay. She's got better over the years. And soon we will be starting our brand new exciting lives in Korea, so look forward to that!"
Marley jumped up onto the sofa to tie the ribbon bows all across the room.
"Hey Marls, let's have some music"
"Sounds like a plan!"
You hopped over to the stereo system and picked up your copy of Jonghyun's album she is, you kept the volume very loud and excitedly danced onto the sofa with Marley. She joined in with the dancing.
"Just think Cake, Jonghyun could be one of the celebs you get to photograph!"
You felt your heart skip a beat as Marley spoke.
"Oh my god Marley don't! I'm too excited already"
"But it really could happen Cake!"
You and Marley looked at each other and just jumped up and down excitedly, you thought it was too good to be true, but you knew Marley was right. Jonghyun is a big star in Korea and you could by all means get to photograph him. You continued to dance around the room while you thought about how lucky you were to be given this amazing opportunity.
