Chapter Four - Flight problems

"I can't do this" your voice was weak and
shaky, you hadn't flown before and you had no idea what to expect.
"Of course you can Cakey girl, in fact, I know you can. Because you are the brave warrior princess..."
"Cake?"
You turned around to see Marley, sitting next to you and clutching your hard.
"Oh Cake, are you alright?"
"Yeah, yes. I'm fine. I was just thinking about the first time I flew in a plane with my mum. I was super nervous and scared, but she was so amazing in calming me"
You could feel yourself begin to panic as you heard the Captain say "we will be experiencing some turbulence shortly" you didn't know what to do, you felt the air thinning around you, there were too many people, the air was too thin.
"There are too many people in here. The air's too bloody tight" your breaths were shortening, your chest felt like it was being crushed.
"I can't breathe" the more you spoke the more you began to panic, the stewardess ran over to you.
"Is everything okay here?"
"She's having a panic attack, she gets very uneasy on planes" Marley answered for you.
"Can I do anything?"
"Well, a cup of tea usually calms her"
"Okay, I'll just fetch you some tea"
"Thank you"
The stewardess left quickly, Marley sat beside you and spoke to keep you calm.
"Cake, I know this is scary, flying can be scary, but it is perfectly safe you know, it is in fact the safest form of transport, it's just like a big bus with wings"
"Yeah Marls it's not so much the flying thing anymore, I've actually got a little more used to it in these last few years"
"What is it then?"
"We're moving pretty far away from home, to another freakin' country in fact, it's scary, do we know enough Korean to speak to the locals? What do we eat? How will we know where to go if all the signs are written in Korean?"
"Okay okay okay, shh Cake, it's okay. Yeah, this is scary, but it's also a pretty awesome adventure. We've got a nice apartment in Seoul lined up for us, you are gonna get to take pictures of celebrities, which will make you a lot of money, we know Korean, we can read and speak it, I've been studying all the different kinds of meals they eat in Korea too. Trust me, we'll be fine"
You felt yourself begin to calm as you thought about the endless possibilities of starting a whole new life in a brand new country.
"Thanks Marley, I feel kinda better. You're right too, it is gonna be awesome"
"It's gonna be mega awesome!"
"Here's your tea miss" came the stewardesses calm voice.
"Oh thank you"
You took the tea and sugar and placed it on your fold away table, you stirred in your sugar and sat back, gazing out the window while you sipped your tea.
