How It Used To Be

Chatper 3

I woke up and thought of what was going to be next for the day. After befriending Jon and thinking about Amber all the time, I'm not sure what's next. I got up and did my morning routine and headed out the door. "Heya Danny Boy, how are you?" He just called me Danny Boy again didn't he?

"Hey Shaun. I'm good what's up?" I asked him. I was trying to see Amber and then possibly Jon.

"I'm pretty good. What's the plan today?" He asked I don't have time for this. I walked onto the bus and sat with Amber and my heart rate picked up too fast.

"Hey Daniel. What's up with you?you seem like you saw a ghost." Amber said to me. Yeah a ghost if you count a really pretty girl as a ghost.

"Hey, uh, I'm fine don't worry about me." I didn't say it like I was fine though. I was shaking and stuttering. I was a complete mess.

"If you say so Daniel. Oh! Which type of PE credit did you take? I'm doing marching band because it's cool to play my instrument and go to every football game." She said to me. She plays an instrument?

"I'm just doing PE. I don't really have a sport I liked on the list. I'm big on baseball though." I wasn't sure of what to say. So I just said my PE credit and since it was lame I said my favorite sport.

"That's very interesting. It looks like we're here. Time for another day at this place that we love. Note the sarcasm." We got up out of our seats and we walked to our first hour class. I'll skip the details because it's boring. But the absolute worst thing happened to me when science came around.

"Today, class, we'll be dissecting owl pellets. The goal is to find the most skulls and bones out of everyone in the class. You all get paired up with the person next to you on the alphabetical list of names." said Mr. Yurinachi. God. That meant I was paired with Willy. Of course it was someone I was trying to let go.

"Hello Daniel. How have you been?" Willy asked me.

"I'm doing fine. What about you Willy?"

"I'm going pretty good. After me and Dana got together I've been having a good time." He said trying to make me jealous. Dana I used to like a lot and he knew that.

"Good for you man. Let's dissect this Owl Crap." I said as the conversation would end there. We found a good number Of bones but to no suprise Joe found the most seeing as he has a knack for finding the best bones.

After all that happens lunch comes around and I have to talk to Jon again but hey he can be my friend why not? I get my food, sit outside and on cue Jon comes up to me. "Hey Daniel. How has your day been?"

"It's been going well. One of my old friends is going out with my old crush though, but I have a new one and don't care what they do." I told him and I betcha he's going to-

"Who are you crushing on?" I KNEW IT.

"None of your business. She's someone I care about and I want to make sure she'll like me back."

"Well that's a shame. Because I was told by someone that they like you. They went to me because I talk to you at lunch." What?

"Who?"

"Some girl with a great smile beautiful eyes and burning red hair." No way. Does he mean Amber?

"Did you happen to get the name of this red haired beauty?"

"Yes. She had a little joke with it too. Because I can't remember names She said to think of Jurassic Park and the blood for the dinosaurs in the Amber." Huh....that does make sense.

"She likes me?" I left the table and went to my next class. Today is a good day I thought. As I walked to the next class I saw Amber and as much as I wanted to talk to her I walked by I'll tell her on the bus. I waited for this god awful day to end. "Man oh man why won't it end?" I said to myself.

       "Do you have something to add Daniel?" The teacher said. I forgot his name wow.

        "No I'm fine."

        "Ok well keep your head up please."  like I said I'm a star student so I get away with things.

        I get on the bus and I wait for Amber to hop on. "Hey Daniel!" She said as I gawked at her. She was so pretty and her eyes were so amazing.

        "Hey, Uh, I was told by someone that you have a thing for me and I was wondering if that was true." I explained with a straight face.

         "Oh. Uh. Y-Yeah I do but it's fine if you don't I mean it's just me."

         "No I like you too. I really thought you were just so amazing." She blushed at that.

          "Thanks you're sweet." She said as she kissed me right then and there. Today was a really good day.
