Sombai's POV

I stare half-heartedly at the newly coated ceiling, wondering.

"Today was suppose to be all about training. Yet how can you train when your mind is still subjugated to something else?"

I let my head fall more towards the right. Silently gazing at the fully opened window and neatly made bed besides mine.

Groggily, I decide it's time to get ready, wouldn't want to make a whole new group of strangers disappointed.

I slowly sit up straight, stretch my arms and legs to their limit and express a jaded yawn. My legs dramatically limp towards the darken colored drawer.

I take out a long-sleeved white shirt and gray colored slacks; not what I would usually wear, but at this point, who cares?

Disorientedly, I make my way to the kitchen. With no one in sight, I quietly made my own bowl of cereal.

"It's kind of surreal to see no one in the house today. Normally, you couldn't go anywhere for peace and quiet, now it's the complete opposite."

Mama was assigned to a mission today, while Sarada had training with Papa.

I had training too but Tsunade was busy today, something about debts.

"Typical Sannin."

"Yo." A familiar voice reached.

It happened in blotches, really, it did.

The sound of the chair falling backwards with the accompanied noise of the spoon grazing the floor echoed behind.

A few scattered moments later and I found myself on top of Shikadai.

"I CAME BACK YESTERDAY AND NOW YOU WANNA SAY HI".

"Heh, why dear I didn't know you missed me so." He arrogantly spoke.

Staring dead-panned at him, I landed a quick blow towards his stomach.

"Why sorry dear, did that hurt?" I sarcastically spoke.

"Okay, okay I give." He answered with defeat.

"Oh, I heard about the Chunin exams by the way. Something about a crazed Otsutski wanting to take over the planet?"

"Yeah, apparently it's the quota of every villian." He sarcastically marked

"Now get off, you're suffocating me." He yelled beligantly.

Bringing my body off of his, I made sure to softly press on his stomach. Whether or not he winced is up for debate, really, it is.

"Now, are we done hurting Shikadai?" He questioned.

"You make it sound like it's over."

"Ugh, dork." He retaliated.

A small smile crept it's way onto my face. It felt weird. But a good weird. For once I didn't notice the silence. The way Sarada didn't give two shits about me. The way Mama pretended everything was okay. The draws. The paint. The way I slowly dissolved into this new environment and had to play this charade that I knew what was going on. That I knew where to stand or where to sit when we're eating. Heh.

Staring straight through Shikadai, I noticed the sun-lit patio. The day was young and as cliché as it sounds, I want to enjoy it. Even it only prolongs the inevitable.

"Yo, I know I'm irresistible but this is kind of gettin ..." He began only to be cut off.

Running towards the outside, I swiftly held onto his hand, dragging him along.
