Chapter 3: Waiting

Jack has been sitting at his computer, he told his husband that he would be working, but he wasn't. He had been waiting for an email. He was too anxious for a reply.

His husband didn't want him to worry about this, so he went to check on him. He saw Jack sitting on the computer, refreshing his emails.

"Sean.." His husband said, entering the room. "We've talked about this."

Jack turned his head and sighed, rubbing his eyes from staring at the screen. "I know.. I'm sorry Mark." He apologized. "I'm just so nervous. I want an answer."

"I understand that, but the email will come when it comes. I don't want you sitting down all day waiting for it. When it might be here tomorrow." Mark had a point. "I made lunch, will you come and eat?"

Jack sighed, and got up. "Yeah, I will." They both walked out of the room, Jack shutting off the light before he walked out.

About a minute later, Jack got a new email.

Mark and Jack had sat and watched TV to pass time. Jack really wanted to go check his email but he knew his husband wouldn't like that. It had been an hour or so later since he checked it last.

The show had went to a commercial, and Jack wanted to check. "Mark. I'm gonna go.. check.. That's okay right?"

Mark nodded. He really just didn't want Jack to stress out about this.

Jack smiled and got up, heading towards the computer.

Mark leaned back and yawned, expecting Jack to come back a few moments later. He didn't though.

"Mark!" He heard Jack yell excitedly. "Email! I got an email!" Mark got up and quickly made his way to Jack.

"That's awesome! What's it say?" Mark quickly asked once he made it. Jack opened the email and started reading aloud.

"Dear Sean,

I'm sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner. I had a little bit of trouble finding someone for you. I had to dig a little bit.

I found a little girl, who is international, Danish. She seems almost perfect for your description except for one thing.. she has a sister. She is a twin sister. Im not sure if you would just want one of these girls, or both. That's for you to decide, and you may take your time.

If you would like to know more about the girls please email me back, and I should be able to get back sooner.

Thank you!"

Jack didn't know what to think of the email. Two girls? Twins? How could they raise twin girls? But she said they were perfect for their description, and they didn't want to separate sisters.

This was going to be hard to decide. They looked at each other.

"Mark.. What do you think?"

Mark didn't know what to think either. Neither of these people had the opportunity to be an older sibling. They didn't know how much work went into two kids.

"I'm not really sure. I mean it would probably be more fun to have twins, but with taking care of them.. I'm not really sure."

They decided to think about it.

Then they thought about it.

Then they adopted them.

If they had chosen not to get both twins, and only one of the girls, that girl would've been Elise.
