Liam's POV

I shoved my hands into my pockets and walked home from school. I didn't like to ride the bus, because I sat by myself and it reminded me I have no friends. My sixteenth birthday was a few years ago and no one came. Fortunately, I'm eighteen and this is my last hear of high school. I turn onto my driveway, and I wondered why no one seemed to like me. Sure, I was slightly different than all of them, but everyone is different from each other. I unlocked the door to my house and went straight to my room. I tossed my backpack onto the floor and flung myself onto my bed. I closed my eyes and went to sleep.

***dream***

I was in the middle of a fight. Except I wasn't in the fight. No one even noticed me. I looked to my right and saw two men taking each other out. One was dressed in black whilst the other was dressed it white. They sickened me, so I looked over to my left. A man and a woman, maybe about seventeen or eighteen? Both dressed in white, and in a heated argument. Suddenly, the man slaps the woman and begins walking in my direction. Where colour should be in his eyes, they are coal dust black. There is no separation of colour from the pupil and the iris. A man in white punches him, and they begin to fight, still inching closer and closer to me. I tremble in fear, finding myself unable to move. The man with the black eyes bumps into me, and I feel myself beginning to fall. I look around frantically for help, but no one seems to notice to me. I manage to lock eyes with a man dressed in white. His blue eyes bore into mine with sadness, as he is unable to help me. I fall onto complete darkness, and squeeze my eyes shut. When the falling sensation stops, I slowly open them, and a bright light pours in.

***end of dream****

"Liam! Liam, wake up!"

I open my eyes, shaking off the fear I felt in the dream. My mum leans over me, concern filling her eyes.

"You were crying for help in your sleep. Are you okay?" She asks. I nod and sit up.

"I'm fine, Mum. It was only a dream." She nods slowly.

"Alright. Well, dinner is downstairs if you're hungry." She goes back to the kitchen. I'm not really hungry, so I throw on a sweatshirt and some tennis shoes and head outside for a walk. It's October, so all the leaves are changing and it's really pretty. I decided to go to London Park, and jog through it. When I entered the park, I realised many people had the same idea as me. The park was very crowded. I decided against running, and simply walked through the park.

After about an hour, I get a drink from the water fountain and sat down on a bench. I looked through pictures on my phone, and I noticed I hadn't deleted any in years. I didn't have a lot, because I wasn't really a picture taker. I stopped when I got to one of me taken about two years back. I was standing backstage, and wearing a number on my shirt. I was doing a thumbs up and smiling. It was me on the X Factor, the second time. I obviously didn't win. I didn't even make it to the judges' houses that year. I was sent home in boot camp. I wasn't "solo material" they said. They didn't even put me in a band. It was so embarrassing to have to go back to school, having been sent home again. I quit singing after that. I didn't even sing when I was alone anymore. I dreamt, though. I dreamt of what would've happened if I had been put maybe in a band? Maybe we would've won. Maybe, if we didn't win, we'd make it at least to the finals. Maybe we'd have hundreds, maybe thousands of girls screaming our names. Maybe we'd perform in sold-out arenas. Maybe we'd travel the world. Maybe, just maybe, I might've made real friends. But that's all a dream and could never happen. I continued staring at the picture, thinking and dreaming of the what if's.

"Is that you?" A voice pulled me out of my head. I look up to see a brown-haired, blue-eyes girl smiling at the picture on my phone. When she got there, I didn't know. I never heard her walk up.

"Umm, yeah it is. A few years ago." I said quietly, putting my phone away.

"You looked so happy!" She smiled at me, and then held out her hand. "I'm Caitriona." I shake her hand.

"I'm Liam. That's a beautiful name you have, I can't say I've heard it before." She smiled, her ocean-blue eyes sparkling.

"Why, thank you, Liam! It's an older name, not very common, so that is probably why you haven't heard it. The park is crowded, yeah?" I smiled slightly, for she seemed really nice.

"Yeah, I was hoping to go for a jog, but I guess not. So, are you from here?" Her accent is slightly different than mine, so I wondered where she lived. She shook her head.

"I used to live in Chereshire, but my mum and dad moved us to America not long ago. I'm back visiting through the winter holiday. I have to go home Sunday." That explained her different accent.

"I live here. My winter holiday is next week. Well, I guess you could say it starts now since it's Friday." We both laughed, until my phone buzzed. It was my mum, wondering where I was. "Well, Caitriona, it was a pleasure meeting you, but I'm afraid I must go." I stood up, and so did she.

"Let's exchange numbers first. I would like to get to know you more, if that's alright." She smiled warmly, and I returned it.

"I'd like that!" I put my number not her phone and she put hers into mine.

"Goodbye, Liam! I hope to see you soon!" She smiled and waved as I walked off. I waved back, and hurried home. I was then rather hungry, so I ate dinner and went upstairs to work on my homework. It was rather easy, so I got through it quickly. I showered, and went back into my room, and turned on some music. I felt a fmailar pounding in my head, and revisited the urge to scream as I sat down. I grabbed my head and fell into the dream, or vision, or memory, whatever it was.

***what he saw****

"So what do you like to get here?" Caitriona asked me as we walked into Starbucks.

"I can never remember what it's called, so I usually get something new every time. Except this time of year. I always get the Peppermint Mocha now." I smiled, and she returned it. She wasn't looking where she was going, and tripped over the Wet Floor sign, sliding on the water. I quickly caught her before she hit the floor.

"Th-thank you, Liam." She said, hugging me and brushing herself off.

"No problem." I said, and we went to the counter to order.

***end of what he saw***

I slowly opened my eyes, and looked at the clock. Fifteen minuets had past, the usual amount of time. I crawled into my bed, because my head still throbbed. I had always gotten visions like that as long as I could remember. I never told anyone though, lest I had been deemed a freak. I didn't know where they came from or why, and I didn't know what they meant.
