Title credit; Mayday Parade-Miserable At Best

I sigh and lean on my arm, staring at the clock. I've been working for about ten hours now and the customers continued to come and go. Mostly anxious teens and big-dollar parents, searching for the newest phone stock. It's sickening really. This generation truly is the broken one. I don't exactly remember when i started working at the phone store in the mall but, here i am. Bored out of my mind. I never got a break today but whatever. I'm just excited to ditch this place and go to the Tiger's game after work. This is the first game i've ever gone to and i gotta say,i was excited. Now,if only the time would hurry up so i can- "Tyley!" I snapped out of it and stood at attention, looking at my boss. "Yes,sir?" He walked over to me with the same sour face he always held and sighed. "You've been slacking off a lot lately,Tyley. Quite frankly,I'm tired of it. You're working the two late shifts tonight to make up for it." My eyes went wide and i immediately frowned. "W-what?! But,sir,i-" He held up a hand and walked to his office, dismissing the matter at hand. "Great! Just fucking great! Now,I'm gonna miss one of the best things to ever happen in this fucking town." I live in a small town outside of Pennsylvania. Therefore,it's not on many maps. So,this is the first time i actually had any fun around here. But,now it's ruined because i can't stand up to my asshole of a boss. I groan and sit down behind the counter. I hear the bell on top of the door go off and sigh. "Welcome to Eddie's Electronics, how can I help you today?" I mumble, uninterested. "Uh,can i get a new IPhone?" I look up and smile at the beautiful girl with blue and black hair. "Yeah, sure! Uh,follow me.." She gives a cheeky smile. "Thanks! I can't wait for the game tonight! Are you going?" I sigh and mentally roll my eyes. "No. My boss is a meat-headed asshole so I have to work through it.." I grab her phone and walk back to the counter. "Oh. That must suck." I give a sad smile and scan the phone. "Yeah. But here's the phone. That'll be fifty-six eighty-three." She hands me the money and i trade her the phone. She waves and walks out. I run a hand through my hair and look at the clock. "I got a while in here.." I sit back in my seat and lean back slightly.

"Excuse me?" I turn and lock the doors, giving them a tug. "Sorry, dude,we're closed." I jump and try to reach the metal shade, missing. I try again and again, missing every time. "Here,I'll help." I shook my head. "No,I got it." I jump again. "Listen,I just got out of a game and dropped my phone on the sidewalk from running. So-"
"Okay, you listen,I have heard about this game all fucking night and I couldn't even go because of my boss and his stupid anger issues. This would've been the first fucking game I ever went to in my entire life. So,you are going to let me shut this fucking shade,go home, cry, and then sleep." I heard loud laughter behind me. "Damn, she told you,Beck!" I froze and stood completely still, instantly recognizing the voice. "Vic Fuentes?!" I breath, shocked. I felt a hand on my shoulder turning me around. "Hey! You a fan of the Tigers?" I nod frantically. "Huge! Nice jersey by the way." He smiles. "Thanks..." He pauses and waits for my name. "Oh! Uh,Tyler." Vic smiles wide. "Nice name." I almost faint. Vic Fuentes just said he liked my name. I jump up and down, inside of course. Outside,i was just smiling like an idiot. "So..about my phone?" Beck awkwardly smiles. Vic takes a deep sigh and shakes his head. "She just said they're closed, man. You can't expect her to stay later to get you a new phone. You'll just have to wait until the morning." He takes his hat and sets it backwards on his head. "Okay, fine. C'mon,Vic. Bus call is in ten!" He runs out of sight and i look back at Vic. "Yeah,I'll be there in a sec!" He yells after him and looks back at me. "You comin' to our game in Columbus,Tyler?" I furrow my brows and gave a curious stare. "Coming where? Oh,um,no. I only had enough for tonight's ticket." He laughs and loops his arm with my arm. "Well,I guess I can fix that." I smirk and shrug. "Please,Tyler?" Vic looks at me with puppy dog eyes and i can't help but smile. "I'll get you a can of monster and ice cream? And I'll pay the whole way." He bargains. I smile even wider and roll my eyes playfully. "Well, when you put it that way.." He smiled wide. "Really?!" I laugh and nod. "When a monster and ice cream is involved with basketball, who could honestly say no? That and who could say no to that face?"

"Yes!" He wraps an arm around my shoulder again. "See you tomorrow,Tyler." I smile widely. "See ya'."
