I heard a knock at the door. HE’S HERE! FINALLY! I had to watch French TV shows that I didn’t understand for 2 hours and 15 minutes- NO SUBTITLES. HE'S SAVED ME!! I bolted to the door, nearly knocking over a bunch of vases. I fixed my hair, dress, and scratched the back of my head. (TO PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING WHEN HE SEES ME!) I opened the door and said,

“Why hello there Daniel.”

He laughed, and handed me a rose.

“Thanks!”

I said.

“You ready to go?”

“Yeah! Let’s go!”

We took the elevator down to the lobby, and then walked to the parking lot where he had his car parked. I hopped in beside him, and he took off. We rode down a couple streets, until I said,

“Where exactly are we going?”

He laughed.

“I gotta tell you the truth, Addison- I actually don’t know.”

We both laughed.

“OOH! I know a cool place to go.”

He turned around and drove to a hill with a beautiful view of a lake. When we reached the parking lot I said,

“This is a hill.”

He laughed.

“I brought a picnic basket.”

He smiled, and so did I.

“So we’ll just sit on the hill, eating?”

“That’s what a picnic is, isn’t it?”

“Ha- yeah, you’re right…”

“So come on! Let’s go!”

He hopped out of the car, grabbed the picnic basket out of his trunk, and opened the car door for me. I stepped out, and my heel went to the side. I didn’t fall, luckily. Daniel caught me.

“Thanks!”

I said, and looked up. His face was right in front of mine. We stared at each other for a bit, and then he picked me up, and placed me back on the ground. He scratched the back of his head.

“Um… ok, let’s go.”

He grabbed the picnic basket again, and started walking. I followed. There was a bit of a long path to the hill, so I grabbed his hand and held it. He looked at me. I smiled, and turned back to the front. We kept walking until we reached the hill. He let go of me, and grabbed a blanket from the basket and laid it out. We both sat down, and grabbed some food from the picnic basket. We ate, and then looked out to the stars.

“Beautiful, isn’t it?”

He said.

“Yeah.”

We stared at it for a while, and then he said,

“Wait until 7:45. They do something really cool.”

It was 7:42 right now, so I waited, and we talked for a bit. About things from school, how we got here, stuff like that, but then, BANG! I heard a humongous BANG, and then looked to the sky. There were fireworks coming from the other side of the lake. I looked at Daniel, he smiled and laughed. I looked at the fireworks again, and smiled. Daniel and I looked at each other, and he moved the picnic basket in the middle of us, and moved closer to me. I smiled again. He kissed me on the cheek, and looked at the fireworks again. I smiled, turned away, and quietly said,

“YES!”

Luckily he didn’t hear me. I turned back to the fireworks, and they stopped. That was cool, and romantic.

“That was pretty cool, don’t you think?”

“Yes. Yes it was.”

“Ha- ok! Well we should probably get going now.”

“Ok.”

We got up, folded the blanket, put our garbage in the garbage can, and walked to the car. Silence the whole way. We got into the car, and rode back to the hotel. We took the elevator up to floor 26, and Daniel got off.

“Bye!”

“Bye!”

He replied. The doors closed, and the elevator went up to my floor. I unlocked the room, and sat on my bed. Mazy came in. Her eyes widened.

“ARE THOSE MY SHOES?!”

“Possibly.”

“Give me those!”

She grabbed them off my feet and stuffed them in her bag.

“DON’T STEAL MY STUFF!”

She stormed out. I sat on the bed again, not a care in the world. Except Daniel.
