" So that's how it started..." he trailed off, not knowing what to say the couple after that story.
" Yes, it is, and in this time we'll rely on you younger ones to keep the race up to fight."
" That's morbid, yet true."
" That's often how it is."
Throughout the entire story Crysanthymum hadn't moved very much and was starting to get strange dark octogon shapes starting on her hands and going up.
" Her blood is starting to become like a sludge, " the man explained seeing his confused expression, " she doesn't have much longer, at least as a human."
" Isn't there anything you can do!" he said exasperated.
" Once it's in your system the only thing that you could possibly do is drain the body of all of the blood while running it back into the body with a filter so the mutates cells don't get back into said person's system."
" There's no way we'll be able to do that... isn't that right?"
" Unfortunately yes." at this, his wife looked down, it showed as a form of mourning.
" What can I do for her?" he had already understand that he couldn't save her, many others would look down on that but he knew it would be better to accept it and make her as comfortable as possible.
" The most human thing would be destroying the brain so it wouldn't be able to function." Ragvard grimaced at that, knowing what would need to be done.
" I should do that as soon ad possible, shouldn't I?"
" Yes, that would be best. I am sorry that-" he was cut off.
" It's fine, I understand it."
" Are you sure you're all right with doing it?" The man was obviously concerned yet also attempting to not be condesending.
" No offense but, I'd rather be the one to kill her."
" None taken, that is understandable."
He wouldn't feel guilty about killing her, he would think of it more as helping her and preventing him from having to kill her while he was at risk of becoming infected too.
She wouldn't have wanted them both to die, she'd have wanted one of them to live and the one who had passed to be remembered.
