BBC's Merlin DOES NOT belong to me, nor the characters. Only the story line!

(Just pointing out that I listen to The Lord of The Rings soundtrack while I'm writing, and it really helps! You guys should try it! Now onto the first one-shot! Here we go!)

"In A land of myth and a time of magic, the destiny of a great kingdom rests on the shoulders of a young boy, his name....Merlin"

The Journal pt. 1

Arthur, Merlin, Gwaine, Leon and Percival set out for a hunting trip.
Arthur had noticed Merlin's odd behavior the last couple days, and decided he was going to find out why, so he ordered a hunting trip to do just that.

*Merlin's pov*
'Why do they keep looking at me like that? They probably noticed that I've been a little...off these past few days, but why do they have to make it their business?
I try my best to act normally but.. these feelings won't leave my mind...
So I just keep listening to the trees, the animals, the whispering waters. It's all beautiful and serene. But these thoughts just won't go.'

Arthur suddenly broke his train of thought when he snapped loudly in his face.
"Merlin, you in there?"
"Uh..sorry..sire" Merlin slurred under his breath, though Arthur understood him clearly.
"What are you thinking about anyway? It's not like you have deep thoughts...or do you?"
Arthur said but inaudibly whispered the last part.
"I'm going to go collect firewood now" Merlin announced, his voice cracking in the middle of his sentence.

*Arthur's pov*

'It kind of sounded like he was about to cry..'

"That was quite odd...what has been going on with Merlin?" Asked Gwaine with concern in his voice.

"I don't know..but I mean to get to the bottom of it" The Once and Future kind declared, expressionless.
He was going to get to the bottom of it, that was for sure. He was more determined than he has been in a while.

"Then we'll do it together, ey?" Gwaine replied, hitting him softly on the back as a sign of support.

Merlin had come back, and they were now setting up camp for the night. Merlin's face evidently red from tears, but he tried his best to hide it.
Arthur could tell, this had happened several times before, and he can always tell.
'I just can't fathom it, what on earth had gotten Merlin so distraught and sorrowful'
Arthur thought distantly. It hurt him. It hurt him to know that his best friend was so upset, and wouldn't talk to him about it.
'This has to end. And soon, because it getting really depressing around here, without that idiots irritating grin'

*Merlin's pov*

"Freya, how lovely a name. How lovely was she. Oh, why did it end so suddenly..
her beautiful, pure, presence,
ripped away from me in a matter of minutes.
The only person who understood
The only one who loved me as I did her..
As she took one last, dying breath, We had said our goodbyes.
And she had been washed away into Avalor, on that same night.
I miss you, my love."

Merlin looked over his writing one last time, before securing his journal in his satchel.
He then noticed he had been sobbing slightly as he was writing.
'geez why is everyone staring...ugh!'

"Why are you guys staring at me?" Merlin asked, acting oblivious.

"Merlin..are you okay?" Sir Leon asked solemnly. "You were..kind of..crying" Percival added
