Chapter 6

Athena's POV 

Alot of things have happened in the past month, Alexander constantly trying to talk to me, and a blonde chick, Colton, trying to make me sleep with him, and on top of that, the stalker, I've got several notes some of which were really creepy, for example one said 

 'Athena, I know you're mad at me for a reason I don't know anything about, but I'll try to understand you and the reason, did you break up with that bastard Henry?, if not, then why didn't you? I won't force you into anything you don't want too, just remember, I'm always going to be there for you, always. Take care precious.' - A.

Uhum, so not creepy, but besides all these things, I'm finally graduating, yes,  it's our graduation day, and I couldn't be more happy, just as I entered the school, the school teachers were passing the robes to everyone, I got one too. Just as I was wearing the robe, I felt someone adjust it for me, William! Looking up at him, I smiled, he did too, he took my cap from me and started adjusting it on my head, when he was satisfied with my look, he took me into his arms, and gave me a warm tight hug, I always did like his hugs, kissing on the top of my head, he whispered, "You did it sister, I am so proud of you" I smiled at him in return as I shook my head and whispered, "We did it Will, I am proud of you too" just as he was about to say something the teachers informed us about the graduation day programme and how it would happen, standing with the rest of my group, it was then when I saw him, he looked really handsome, he was staring at me too, giving him a large grin which he gracefully returned, I walked towards the stage as my name was being announced, collecting my degree and looking at the rest of the group grinning along with Alexander, I felt happy, finally.

Graduation ceremony went gracefully, everyone was happy, after changing into our suits, yes suit, we were here sitting at a table drinking, well not me, but the rest, I put my brown hair into a pony, with it's left side braided, tucked in my ponytail, we were laughing at each others lame jokes, Charlotte was drunk already, and was muttering gibberish, I saw Alexander making his way towards the table, and damn I was right, he along with the rest of his group, was seated with us, but that wasn't the fun part, not yet, it was then when Charlotte stood up to give a toast.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, present at our table, I would like to raise this toast for Athena" thankfully she wasn't that loud.

"When I first met you, I was broke living upto peoples expectation, with a shitty boyfriend, I was crying when you came and handed me a tissue, asking me to talk to you about, I felt like I could trust you, and I did, I told you everything and you chuckled saying how I shouldn't be in chains just because I was rich and so was my family, didn't mean I should listen to them at every second, and do what they say, I was so angry, you called me a puppet, and then when  I shouted at you, that you were similar to me, you smiled and said you were not, I quote 'I was similar to you but now I'm not, I'm free and happy, at peace' I envied you, but you took me to the third class in the cruise, the rest of you all were there too, we danced all night and I felt happy, and it was then when I decided what I wanted, and now look here I am, you remember don't you?" oh boy..

"I remember every conversation, we had" I smiled at her.

"Bless! may god give everyone a sister like you! oh no wait! I am going to be the only one to have a sister like you,  no one else, I take my wish back, but not of blessing you" she slurred, "I want to dance, let's go" she pulled me up as I pulled Scarlette up with me.

We did dance alot and Charlotte finally felt at peace, laughing and shaking my head at her dance moves I could only watch

Alexander's POV

I smiled at the sight of Athena laughing as her dimples popped out, "You like her don't you?" Hazal asked looking at Athena and Charlotte.

"Maybe more than like, she completes me. Only if she liked me back" I muttered.

"She does, it's just she is scared, alot of things had happened to her in the past" she said.

"What about her boyfriend, son of a bitch, whoever he is, I swear he is going to be dead" I said angrily, I was confused when I heard her laugh, "She doesn't have a boyfriend, she was messing with you, I can't believe you fell for that" oh.

"You know people who are often the ones who are smiling the most are the ones that cry the most too? Depression pulls people inside, but when they come out, they become great people, and successful too." she said

"How do know that? did you hear it somewhere?" I questioned

She shook her head, "I've seen it" she was smiling at Athena while saying that.

"Can you explain that to me please?" I questioned her.

She nodded, "It's not my place to tell you that, but I will, when Athena was 12, she lost alot of people, and she went into depression, the teacher hated her, so did the principal, but that didn't break her spirit, but it did, deep down it hurt her, slowly slowly, it was breaking the confidence she had, but she didn't let anyone else know about that, she started cutting, almost did at one point her parents found out, they tried to help her, but it was useless, it was then when her niece, her big brothers daughter, had met with an accident, he has three kids, two boys and a girl, they are really close to her, as I was saying she was in a really critical condition, Athena thought it was because of her, that she was cursed, and she kept saying how sorry she was, it broke her, deeply, and badly, completely. It was at midnight when she came to my house, red eyes, pale skin, a look so broken that it could break a mirror, we were having a party, and we were completely unaware of what was happening, she didn't inform any of us about it, it was normal for her not picking up her phone for hours, it was me and William, we were tidying the house, when the door bell rang, she fell into our arms, crying for hours, telling us about her problems, we felt ashamed, ashamed of ourselves at being such bad friends, she helped us with our problems, and we never knew anything about her" she took a deep breath in.

"It was then when she decided to change, she didn't want to be unhappy, she wanted peace, and she got it, look at her now, that was the reason why Will is so proud of her, I am too." she said while looking at Athena with tears in her eyes. I nodded, this was too much to take in she is so strong, I felt proud too.

The passed quickly I couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of  Chris  carrying a very drunk Charlotte. I hid in a room, as I felt her passing by, I caught her hand and pulled her inside, looking at her she is beautiful, the sparks I wanted to feel, between us, as I hugged her tightly.

"I know you're not ready for a relationship right now, and I won't force you, ever. I'll wait for you, you'll see me again, this isn't the end of us, no it is the beginning, I'll see you soon precious, but for now, I'm walking away, not completely, but enough for you to live your life, do whatever you want, I'll never stop you, remember that, and me" I said softly while looking into her eyes, I gave her a kiss on both her cheeks and the nape of her neck, forehead and nose, I hugged her tightly for the last time, as I walked away for now.

It hurts.
