Jordyn never showed her wings to anyone, especially not humans. She had always been ashamed of her distasteful wings, they were odd and unworthy. Her parents Mike and Abitha knew all about her wings. She was told not to display her wings in the human world, where they lived. When Jordyn was a baby, someone had caught her with her white angelic wings. Her mother and father had to come save her, using their one of their sin strikes. When you belonged to the Calfilm clan, you followed three special rules:

1. Never EVER show any magical part of your life to humans.

2. Always honour the Saraetial god.

3. Always honour the sin strikes.

Jordyn's family had come from a long line of fantastical creatures. Jordyn's mother was an angel, she had angelic wings and her cupboards were stocked with large amounts of white clothes. Jordyn's father was a heartbeat converter. He had the power to convert into anything living around him. Jordyn had the blood of Invisibility and Converter in her. But she had tried many times to convert, as instructed by her father, but each time was unsuccessful, leaving her body dama ged in some way. Her invisibility powers were weak too, she was to unlock them when she was 'ready.'

The metal was cold under her skin, and the ruby shined in morning sun. Jordyn stood with her back to her house and examined the small locket in her hand. Her dark hair shined as she moved towards the door of her house. The red ruby started changing colours. Every time the ruby changed colour, it gave of a different scent. From red, it turned to a soft pink which gave the smell of fresh daisies. From pink it turned to a deep blue which gave the scent of fresh pineapple. Jordyn's mother had told her that the locket was magical. She pressed the ruby.
