Hi guys!!! So I'm so nervous.this is my first book EVER, so excuse me for the shortish chapters and feel free to comment and stuff. Hope you like it so far👍🏾
It was my first day in Nsukka University, and I was nervous. My family had high expectations for me to fulfill . They always worked hard to give me the best they could, and I never forgot the sacrifices they made for me, so in return, I promised them that I would be successful and not let their efforts go in vain. Even after all the problems with the Biafran War, the fight between the three major tribes in Nigeria, Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa, the campus still looked unscathed on the surface. Underneath, there was darkness forming deep in the hearts of people in different universities across the country, unwilling to let go of the past. It had become a trend to form cults based on one's tribe.Yes, Nsukka was part of the universities but it was relatively safe compared to other schools, with it's high walls and barbed wire .The huge main building loomed above me with smaller roads all connecting to the the main hub. Apart from the walls being a cruel reminder that one had to be more careful with their tribe status, the grounds were well kept, with professors' houses sitting quietly along the road. It was quiet, and had an air of knowledge, cars if the buildings also had lectures to teach.. I particularly noticed a burst of purple hibiscuses. I do not know why it caught my attention but I knew I felt a special pull towards those flowers, as if something might lead the flowers and I to meet again later in life.
I knew that things wouldn't be different popularity- wise. I was and would always be the huge nerd that never partied, and to be honest, I liked it that way. I wouldn't have to worry about friends, or what to wear at the next party, or waking up in a strangers house with a terrible hangover. After paying the driver, I walked into the administrative building. The first thing I saw was the sign up sheet for Robotics club, and without a doubt, I could tell I was going to enjoy living there. I registered in, got my room keys, and went to my assigned dorm. It was when I opened the door and saw my roommate, that I started going down the path to hell.Sooooo? How was it? Comment and vote to show me just how much you loved it.
