"There has been said sightings and rumours of a woman working for Hydra taking out S.H.I.E.L.D Agents and innocent citizens. We thought it be tolerable to just said in a Team of Agents from this facility but she is stronger than we thought to be and ut is said that she is aiming to take out our facilities one by one"

You all sat around the Conference room, all silent as Fury's words sunk into your heads. This woman did sound dangerous and you knew it would take more than just some Agents to take her out. Fury would need the Avengers.

"Okay, but what does this have to do with Y/n?" Natasha asked, cleaning her gun as she eyed the Director.

"Miss L/n, ever heard of the words 'Soldat'?"

You furrowed your brows in confusion before replying.

"When I was working under the German Hydra facility they often spoke of this project and experiment known as 'Soldat'. If my German is correct that means Soldier, no?"

"That is correct. Did you ever meet this experiment?" Nick asked again and you shook your head before replying.

"No, why? Is Soldat the women who is doing all of this?" You asked.

"Tell me Y/n. Does the name B/F/N ring a bell?"

Your heart stopped for a second, facing going pale and your stomach churning as you swallowed the lump in your throat. Everyone stared at you intently, immediatly noticing your change of mood and the aura around you as things grew tense.

"Yes...yes it does" you whispered out, gaze dropped to the table as Clint squeezed your leg reassuringly.
"Please tell me..." you started and Nick already knew what you were going to say as he replied.

"Im sorry Y/n..."

You bit back a sob as your frame shook.

"It's her" he finished as you clenched your hands around the fabric of yor suit legs.

"Departing time?" You asked numbly.

"Y/n..." Steve whispered out, only saying your name but showing the pity and sadness behind it.

You didn't want pity. You didnt want empathy. You didnt want feelings.

"Departing?" You growled out, a sense of strength and anger bubbling inside of you as you fought back the sadness and hesitation of not wanting to kill your bestest friend. You couldn't afford to take favouritsm at the moment, not with the lives of the innocent and S.H.I.E.L.D agents on the line.

"As soon as possible. The Team will be..." you cut the Director off.

"Teams wont be necessary, she was my friend" you stated as you stood from your seat, your heels clicking against the floor and your hair swaying against your back as you headed towards the door.

Before anyone could protest or retaliate you spoke again. Your words full of resolve and cold determination it shook them to the core.

"I will kill her myself"
